Yes, but you still had to make them. No one said, "Well, you're the big damn hero so we'll just give you our armies, resources, and information with no strings attached."

True, and those were reasonable demands since you could turn into an even worse king than the one you were trying to overthrow.

So long as her demands are reasonable and will help in the long run, I'll most likely just accept her terms. If they aren't? Well, I guess that's bad luck for her then, since she isn't exactly in a position to make demands anyway.

One can finnish the game without her afterall.

I like that Vivienne throws the PC a party instead of joining the group because we rescued her or wandered into her. It's both deliberate, suggests she's not a passive individual, and is interesting on a diplomatic level.

She's courting the Inquisitor. I doubt at that point the Inquisition is incredibly powerful and throwing a party suggests Vivienne is going to treat you as a person of importance before you may have earned it -- buttering you up, basically. At the same time, throwing a party presents her as a powerful and influential person. The shot of her walking down the steps and being handed a staff by the man looking down tells me she's not looking to be a servant but a respected ally.

Vivienne is working hard to make sure she joins the Inquisition on her own terms.

I'd like to see that carry throughout the relationship. It's a dynamic I've felt lacking in previous BioWare games.

She'll be accorded the same amount of respect as Cassandra, Sera or Cole. One hopes this will be enough.

I can see Vivienne as the type who wants you to like her best and treat her better than the others. Given how she was in the Empress' court and the nature of the Game in Orlais, I'm going to guess she tends to, consciously or not, see social interaction as a competition where she wants to be the winner.

Cassandra will probably be far more pragmatic. As long as you give her a resonable amount of respect, she'll be content. She doesn't need to be bffs.

Sera strikes me as more emotional. If you work together, she wants to like you and you to like her. She probably enjoys attention and may act out if neglected, but doesn't really see it as a hierarchy where she needs to be on top.

So....

Vivienne, only child.
Cassandra, middle child.
Sera, youngest child.

No idea about Cole. I wonder if he'll be a doormat that you can constantly insult and yell at, but he'll just make sad eyes and not fight back.

Which would be perfect for Inquisitor Archer. Having a servant you can verbally abuse would be the cherry on the top for that archtype.

(I'm kidding though, I could never do that to poor Cole.)

I find it suspiciously strange that we still don't have voice actor or romance info.

You'd think we know all about Vivienne by now, being among the very first characters revealed and everything.

Well, supposedly Indira Varma is her VA. A lot of people on this thread said they sound very similar after Solas' VA slipped that he met her while working on DAI.

I meant some kind of official confirmation, but yeah, I know about the Indira thing.

Either they have a video for her VA or they are just waiting. I'm with you though, I want an official confirmation.

I agree. I want to know who voices Blackwall, Dorian, Josephine, and Vivienne so we can at least get a ballpark guess of how all our followers sound.

That was more directed towards her romanceability. For some reason, I feel the longer it takes to hear something, the less likely Vivienne is an option.

I'm just pessimistic like that, but I'm really curious to know where her character stands with regards to romance.

No moreso than any of the others, I'd imagine. We've known about Varric from the beginning - what do you think his chances are?

Seeing as how I never expected Varric to be a love interest in the first place, it doesn't really make a difference to me.

I still don't think he's likely to be one, despite all the demand.

LOL this is perfect because then my Inquisitor can be the Eldest Child. I am one in real life so dealing with middlings and younglings..is a piece of cake.. :D

I was already going to romance all the non-straight companions. That won't change if Vivienne isn't available.

In other news, I briefly checked out the Dorian thread a moment ago, and saw that they were all planning out Inquisitors to romance him with. What characters are you all planning out for a potential Vivienne romance?

Mine will be Mana Lavellan, an elven mage. She thinks that Circles, and the Chantry as an institution, should be abolished (or at least defanged), and so, will likely have many fundamental disagreements with Vivienne because of that... and yet, she will find herself unable to resist her, and will attempt to bring her around to a more "anti-establishment" point of view.

Appearance-wise, I'll probably be basing her off of Samira Wiley:

I expect I'll play a female qunari of a non-mage class and romance whomever catches my eye when I play the game.

Yes,I'm quite afraid the last option will be Varric as a straight option for female gamers und Cullen is race gated against dwarf. I hope I'm wrong though because it would mean straight female gamers get double as many options than straight male and lesbian female gamers (if Solas turns out to be bisexual). Vivienne would be perfect to balance things out.

I'm planning on romancing Sera first pt and will romance Vivienne in my second pt if she's available to female Dalish rogues.  If not, then Sera is the back-up plan for that Inquisitor :P

Spoiler

This is Turmas Adaar. If Vivienne is available to him, then even the Qun he tries to adhere to, can go elsewhere.
