Why does every ball and party we go to have to involve infiltrating?
It might not but I don't care why we go, I just don't want the game to force something fugly on my Inquisitor, I want to keep my blood and mud stained armor on at all times. Except maybe smexy times
I put this into the Sera thread, but I thought you guys might enjoy this. Man, I wish I could draw. This is what I imagine it would be like if Sera had to wear a dress for a ball:
Vivienne: Hmm, I think this dress would compliment your eyes, dear. Your hair...goodness. Well, I've worked with worse, so this isn't as hopeless at it first appears. Now, as far as the mask, I was thinking of a gazelle theme, since the browns and golds would bring out your natural colors...
Sera <mouth taped shut, tied to a chair> : Mmmphf!
Vivienne: Now now darling, I wasn't the one that hacked off your hair with a dagger. By the Maker, whatever were you thinking? It is a shame too, because your hair and eyes are your best, and possibly only, good features.
<Sera looks at Vivienne, her eyes full of daggers.>
Vivienne: Be grateful dear. It isn't every day that a person of zero fashion sense has me as an expert on hand. For once, you might actually be acceptable enough for public. Now, about that dress, do you prefer pink? Or perhaps baby blue?
Sera <struggling in her seat> Umuffmphf!
Varric: It could be worse. You should see what her and Dorian have in store for Solas.
Vivienne: That reminds me, Varric...are you really wearing that to the ball?
Varric: Rest assured Madame, I know how to clean up for a fancy party. You seem to have your hands full as it is.
<Quizzy walks in, sees Varric making a quick exit, Sera tied to a chair and gagged, and Vivienne looking mighty pleased with herself>

I reaaally hope we're never forced to wear an orlesian dress. If there's a ball (think I heard there was) it should be like the guard disguise when you infiltrate howe's estate. Having that #@%! dress forced on my Shep pissed me off so much

Nearing the end now. 
I like Orlais! With playing the game and dressing to gain the right keys to the door. Vivienne knows what she is doing, and anyone would do the same if they know it would help their reputation. People forget that they would do anything for their dream job, and how you dress can tell a lot about you as a person.
I think people want everyone to dress, and act like they were in Ferelden, but sorry we are going to a place that's all about the way you look and playing the game. Which is something I can't wait to get into. So, try putting yourself in Vivienne's shoes, a mage that's basically treated bad just cause of what they're born with. I can understand why someone would grow up, and be better than what the average person thinks of a mage, and I applaud Vivienne for becoming an important mage, not only
Oh, like every non-Tevinter, non-Dalish mage ever? And most seemed to get by without embracing Vivienne's... winning personality.
In any case, I hate Orlais and would ideally see the entire empire fall.

So if anyone wants to find old concept art it should be in the OP or the first eight pages of this thread.
Do you expect everyone to do the exact same thing? So people want more than others. Some people just want a simple life. Is there something wrong with the both of those situations? No, cause people are diverse, and things would be dull if everyone had the exact same goal and personality. People also are raised in a different society, which means their view on life is different.
That's not entirely the point. While ambition isn't evil by itself, a great many acts of evil have been motivated by ambition... and Vivienne seems to have no fear of committing them, in addition to being painfully conservative.
