So, has anyone else here played this game?

I was watching scenes from this game some time ago. I played it all the way a long time ago, it was really a lot of fun then but reflecting back it still seems just as great in many ways. I feel like it was very nearly as cool as the FFs and a lot of the more famous games out there. I'd recommend giving it a shot if you have not played it.

I feel like there were so many games from the PS1 era that could match the most popular play station games but don't have the mega-exposure and I was wondering if anyone has played this one in particular.

I've had the opportunity to play it briefly. I used to own the PSP version. For what it's worth I enjoyed my brief time with it, it is a very good rpg but modern gamers might find it to be a bit to old school not to mention the fact that a lot of modern gamers are prejudiced against jrpgs and the cliches they contain. I got about a 1/4 of the way through it before I got distracted by something else, I always meant to come back to it but a few years ago someone broke into my house and stole my PSP, all my PSP games and a handful of my PS3 games ( they also tried to take the PS3, they pulled it from under the TV but left it in the middle of the room for some reason ).

I would recommend it if you can find it at a good price and you love jrpgs.

Yay someone else here has played it. It is true it is somewhat old school, although I myself am the type that prefers to play the old good thing rather than the shiny new experimental.. thing. Unless it's shiny and new and also fun which does happen sometimes.

It's basically a lot of the same people that made Valkyrie Profile which is another good one by them, although also a PS1 era game and therefore somewhat old.

Yes I played a few hours and then got to the part on the parallel Earth where the girl tries to trick for secrets and then I stopped as it was obvious it was a trick and there was no option to say no to her.
I can not stand it when a trick is so obvious a 10 year old would figure it out and we get no option to say no.

The first game was brilliant and the story was a much higher class than the Bioware games so people criticising JRPG's don’t know what they are talking about.

Never had a chance to play the first one, but I've played, loved, and still have second story.  Have tried the next two but just couldn't get the hang of the combat in them (especially Last Hope).

My favorite parts were the Iron Chef minigame, and Ashton's barrel fetish.
