The graphics upgrades would need to include an overhaul of the human face morph, shape presets, and especially facial hair textures so that it doesn't take so much fine tuning and revision just to make a decent looking custom Shepard.

It'd also have to have all the DLC and promo items.

If they could manage that I'd buy it. ME1-3 with cohesive current gen graphics... /drool

Still, I'd rather they focus resources on making a new game with better graphics, new story, intriguing new characters, and expanded and improved gameplay+multiplayer.

They could always get other dev team's to handle the port while they work on the next game.

I am only interested in the first Mass Effect if it is just a graphics update.

Probably.  If they could fix some of the wonkiness of the gameplay in the first ME, that would be nice.

I don't know- I mean I've already decided to update my desktop strongly enough to continue playing the games and I've got no interest any more in a next generation re-release without the DLC. Most buying a re-mastered trilogy would have already bought the DLC on the earlier platform and given we were stripped of cross-generational playing ability, it would really sit badly given that one day a lot of us will be reduced to repairing our old consoles with no ability to connect when XBOX Live/ Playstation network goes dark for the 360 and PS3. The DLC will essentially be paid on the respective services but inaccessible with the demand that we buy it again for new generation just to ensure that we can still play it.

Also the bandwidth costs for remastered DLC would be massive. It was agony downloading the DLC on my 360 and for PC I had to borrow my best friend's internet. My brother is furious I don't have the spare bandwidth to help him download patches and Zaeed/Firewalker. So I've become a huge sceptic at the idea of a re-mastered trilogy and a different business strategy given EA's phobia of releasing complete editions for their games after a reasonable period of time.

Most definitely would buy it to my ps4 if it really included all the dlcs (so I wouldnt have to buy them twice) and visual and gameplay redesignes to mass effect 1.

So this seems like as good a place as any to ask if anything new has shaken loose on the reality of a remastered trilogy - anybody heard anything new since E3?  My old 360 is on it's last legs, I fear, and if it craps out soon (which is seeming more and more likely with each passing day) I really don't want to have to go buy a used 360 console just to keep playing the original trilogy.

ME 1-3 are the only games keeping my 360 plugged in for the foreseeable future.

I've already overextended myself with the original trilogy. I need something new for mass effect. Nicer graphics won't convince me to replay a 7th time.

No. My sights are set on the new games, not remakes.

I hope they make this remaster.
It would be awesome in 1080p/60.
If they could upgrade the textures too that would be nice. We don't need a tomb raider definitive like upgrade, but at least correct the ugly ones and make it a little bit more high res. And of course it must contain all the DLCs. If they really want to make it a must have purchase then they should make use of the new systems unique abilitys. Like the DS4 speaker and touchpad. It would be a nice touch if all the radio conversations would come from the controller. And they can use the touchpad for map navigation and similar things, like the door hacking mechanism in the second game. I know a lot of people rather see a new entry in the series then remaster the old ones but the whole trilogy was a generation definer and I think it's a must to make it available for the next 6 year at least. Insta buy from me that's for sure.

If it's all three games with HD makeover, and includes all DLC, and is $60, then yes.

if not, then no. PC version is still awesome.

Buying it would be a definite no for me, re-master or not and the expense $60+ dollars for some "definitive" remaster isn't going to be worth it any more than the present ME trilogy release both of which would not have the DLC's added in.

I would buy it for my xbox one, just like I'm buying The Master Chief Collection.

Even if it was a digital-only release, I would still pre-order it in a heartbeat.  Plus, a digital-only release would save them a signifcant amount of money, I'm guessing.

Regardless of how cheesy it is, my birthday wish is the ME Trilogy for PS4 with all the DLC packs and running at 1080p@60fps.

July 4th, 2014 - "General Manager for BioWare’s Edmonton & Montreal Studios Aaryn Flynn has confirmed that the company is currently working on a remake of the original trilogy for the next-gen consoles."

Link - http://www.breatheca...next-gen-16879/

I'm praying that this is for real.  Never been so excited about the possibility of a remake as I have with the Mass Effect Trilogy.

*Crossing my fingers* Please just take my money already and reserve me a copy (preferrably for PS4).

The only place I found an article claiming it was confirmed is this Christian music fan site, but on none of the video game sites. Also, the article doesn't link to any sources. I'm pretty sure the guy writing the article simply misunderstood the comment that BioWare were thinking about doing it.

Hell yes. I would buy it for both the PS4 and the Xbox One so I have an excuse to get all the Achievements and Trophies again. I already have it on PS3 and 360, but I really want them on the current gen too. Then I'd really be able to move on to the current gen.

My wishlist for this hypothetical remaster:

1. EVERY DLC included on disc is available. Major DLCs, preorder bonuses, collectors edition exclusives, and even Pinnacle Station all there on disc.

2. all games have equal quality graphics (1080p/60fps)

3. Fix Elanos Haliat so that he is a turian like he was meant to be

4. Fix the Mass Effect 3 Journal so that it is like the Mass Effect 1 and 2 journal

5. Make it to where the transmission from hackett from the Arrival DLC will not start until AFTER you check that specific email regarding Arrival. That way I can see the entirety of the DLC at once instead of the first cutscene after Collector Base then the rest after the SM.

6. Replace the wall of text that the trinket the consort gives us with a cutscene showing us what the wall of text tells us.

7. give us access to the Silversun strip as early as post-Palaven, but still keep the Shore Leave mission where it is

8. I know it is highly unlikely, but maybe have a bonus disc of the following items: trailers and other videos from the ME1 and ME2 collectors edition bonus discs, all of the teasers for ME3 [such as that live action stuff], and even have a playable Mass Effect Galaxy and Mass Effect Infiltrator on the disc. That way we can freely get the bonuses from those two iOS games without having to use a phone [especially since Galaxy is no longer available]

9. I know it is highly unlikely, but maybe new side missions in ME3 that involves the newer maps from the MP DLCs

10. I know it is highly unlikely, but maybe new cutscenes for Priority: Earth showing our war assets at work.

11. maybe give us access to our Pinnacle Station apartment [should we unlock it in ME1] in ME2

12. Of course have bug fixes

13. Speed up the planet scanning in ME2 so that it is as fast on consoles as it is on PC currently

If it's just a simple HD remaster then nope won't buy it. I have it already with all the DLCs so why bother?

If changes (in terms of gameplay and story) are made to this remaster editions and missions are added then I will consider it. Since the latter seems unlikely then no, I'm not going to buy it.

There is no way I would ever pay for that ending again.  Period. (Not trying to beat a dead horse, just my feels on the matter)

I still play ME1 a good bit - and its graphics are a little dated.  ME2 still rocks.  I only play ME3 for the MP.  I have all of the DLC for ME1 and 2 - and the MP DLC for ME3.

If they did a graphics overhaul on ME1, gave infiltrators tactical cloak, and set the powers recharge speeds to something like ME2, made the combat interface more like ME2, and provided the DLC - then I might get ME1 and 2 again.   Heck - I'd probably still play the MP for ME3 as well - be like starting my manifest all over again.

I'd buy it for being able to play ME3 MP with the DualShock 4 alone.

Although I'm pretty sure manifests won't transfer, which would be a real bummer.

You can use a PS4 control to play ME3 on PS3. Its the only control i use now.

Mass effect is surprisingly the only game that I am wilking to replay. And I dont normally replay games.

With that in mind it'll need new features that aren't present in the previous games, such as having all or most of the dlcs. Fixing of bugs, etc.
