DG just asked the thread to drop that particular subject.  I think he has a good point.

Actually he just provided some clarification and gave his thoughts on how he the non-human races should be seen. He didn't think some of my argument was valid. That is fine. But a disagreement doesn't mean drop the discussion (DG if I got your intent wrong let me know).

@Direwolf0294: Just skin tone, hopefully. If people are trying to being real life, human races into fantasy races that 'already' have altered face structures things are gonna just get extra weird. In the end a dwarf is a dwarf, elves are elves. Ah who am I kidding, people are probably talking about real world race stuff stuck onto every fantasy race even when there current face structures aren't white or whatever either.

They got different skin tones, eye colors, there fantasy races... I don't see why this would is even going in that direction at all lol. Just would like more dwarf companions down the road.

I see what you're saying, but the problem is there's literally only 1 in every 100 humans. Those are MASSIVELY smaller numbers, making just the amount of dwarves you come across rare; never mind seasoned fighters; never mind in a position to go adventuring; never mind being willing to do it; never mind encountering wherever the current player character is on the map. And as others have said, the majority of dwarves live underground, terrified or thoroughly uninterested in coming out. Those few that do stick to factions, work as merchants and smiths to make a living, etc.

But yeah, the lack of representation is annoying.

I think the best argument for having more dwarves in the game is that the dwarves of Thedas are awesome and fascinating and I want to hang out with them more.

As for the relative rarity of dwarves: they're hardly more difficult to find than Fade spirits who have successfully entered the mortal realm, and yet we've had those join the party twice, three times if you count the one inhabiting Wynne. If the writers want to put dwarves in the party, it's not hard to come up with reasons for them to be there.

Yeah, pretty much everything you said there Andraste_Reborn. The only thing im super mildly disappointed in, personally, is I'd of liked a non-surface dwarf (or one who's been exiled 'recently') just so I could have em in the party with Varric. if for no other reason then to listen to them be wildly disapproving of each other. But then, when I play BG2, I always have Jaheira, Aerie and Viconia for that very reason. They bicker, endlessly, and for some reason I really like it when my companions bicker.

Course there will be PLENTY of options to have other companions bicker like children so, theres that. But as you say - Dwarves are awesome, and that is good enough reason to have more.
