Okay, questions people asked (please note that I had to ask them very hastily because they ran out of time for taking questions in the panel I attended before my turn came up, so I had to ask back at the BioWare booth where there were a lot of other fans waiting in line to shake hands/get autographs of the creative heads - so I wasn't able to get detailed answers for anything - my apologies):
aTigerslunch, I asked Mike Laidlaw and Mark Darrah about other art for the game boxes, and they said they didn't know. So sorry! Still working on the bulge question. I did send pics to Steve Middleton who's the/an animation lead tech, but I haven't heard back from him yet. I'll let you know as soon as I do.
Natashina: I asked Mike Laidlaw and Mark Darrah about whether the ads on Blip and TV will mention that you can choose gender as well as race. They said they didn't even know if there would be TV ads, so that's where that stands. You also asked about specializations - there's a little more information on the DAI official website - about what each specialization is called and what makes them different, I don't know if you have seen these yet: http://www.dragonage...n_GB/inquisitor
DarthKrytie: Mike Laidlaw and Mark Darrah told me that dragons will regenerate health as soon as you leave the fight.
ascendedflame: Mike Laidlaw and Mark Darrah confirmed that disengage does work by running away. Animals will follow you "forever" until you kill them, but sentient species will only follow you a set distance before returning to their camps.
AlexieRevan: David Gaider said there are no dwarf romances because it didn't work out this time, but he also suggested that there may be some in future DA games, possibly, as long as it makes sense for the companions' character.
Tayah: I asked Mike Laidlaw and Mark Darrah whether the box blurbs will mention that you can pick your gender/race - they don't know. (I wish I could have spoken to one of the marketing people for you, aTigerslunch and Natashina!) Also, there will not be dresses available for Inquisitors to wear to the Orlesian ball. They told me that dresses are really hard to decently animate because you have to get the movement of the fabric right as well as that of the model within it. They said also that dresses make it really hard to fight. I kind of went "I get that for adventuring, but for the ball? Ooooh... there might be fighting at the ball, but you can't tell me that. Got it!" And they were noncommittal but if I'm going to speculate, then I think that is in fact what might happen. So... there you go.

Sunday, September 28 - Preparing for the Impending Inquisition
Again, these are highlights taken from hastily written notes I took in the panel today, so all errors are my own.
Today's panel was facilitated once more by Conal Pierse. He was joined by:
Mike Laidlaw
Cameron Lee
Mark Darrah
David Gaider
Matt Rhodes
They introduced themselves and chatted a bit about DAI, then Cameron Lee demoed the Character Creator live. You can change pretty much EVERYTHING about your Inquisitor's face by clicking and dragging on their portrait in the Creator - even the Adam's apple can be made large or smaller. So... there are almost an infinite variety of customizations available to us (within the constraints of not being able to do stuff like complete heterochromia in the eyes and some others). As most of us already know, makeup will be available for both male and female Inquisitors.
David mentioned that there are 80,000 lines of dialogue in this game, which is comparable to DAO.
Mike said there are tons of new codex entries, but you don't have to read them if you don't want to. Everyone's favourite blood-soaked dwarf, Scout Harding, will bring you up to speed on what you need to know to complete missions in areas where you have sent her and her scouts.
David added that what happens when you explore will not be completely irrelevant to your Inquisition. Mike mentioned, as he has previously, that every level has a cave or a dungeon that has no quest markers, so if you find it, you're in luck. There will be useful stuff in those caves and dungeons, but I believe they will not be essential for you to be able to complete the game. Cameron added that there are cheese wheels hidden in the strangest places, like down in ravines. (I wonder if Alistair has something to do with this, if he's alive in your playthrough... just kidding.) Mike mentioned that as the devs have been playing through the game, they keep finding strange things in the treasure vault in Skyhold - the artists are having fun. There used to be cheese wheels there, then there was a pie for a while; now it seems to be a top hat like Scrooge McDuck's... there is no telling what will be in there when the game releases.
David said if you find a crafting material called "Lazarite" it is very, very good. There was talk of being able to make purple plate mail with it.
The floor was opened up to Q & As. News from these includes:
- there will be no griffins, even though
- Masked Empire characters and events will be in the game.
- Mark Darrah confirmed that the warden will not be coming back in DAI, whether or not he or she is alive in your world-state. He added that you won't see them, but you will hear about them.

I just posted everything I said about my experience there in the twitter character creator thread but heres it all summarized:
People will be interested/happy to hear that there will be a sort of click and pull feature within it when creating the face. A bit similar to the one in sims 4. There will also be a color wheel for some choices such as the eyes, tattoos and warpaint.
And the moustaches and beards look glorious.
Other quick notes they hinted at vaguely were:
-not "seeing" the warden in inquisition, but leaves potential for hearing of them.
-maybe griffins as late game or dlc
-and character creation will likely take place right after the beginning incident leaving me to wonder if they will let you play as a masked character for a bit before choosing their looks.
-cave exploration was heavily mentioned by laidlaw as he wanted "each area to have a dungeon or cave to explore."
And you'll never know what you may find such as a note or item you can take back to skyhold to have examined.
-power will progress the story. The more power and influence the inquisition gains the more you can do along the lines of story and you may find yourself having a lot more than you would need to finish the game.
-major choices can have major outcomes such as how one might lead you to a whole different place than the other would.
-You will find yourself spending a lot of time at skyhold to do tones of different things and activities.
-the head scout for the inquisition, Harding, who we know as the cute dwarven rouge from the last demo, is described as being "cute and merciless". Having to go and scout out locations and kill groups of enemies to clear a camp. ![]()
-be on the lookout for cheesewheels. They said you would be finding them in the most random places.
-the treasury vault for skyhold went through different phases with what its contents were. Sometimes it had stacks of cheesewheels, and other times it was barrels. The sound of walking in there was very satisfying.
I also hugged Mike Laidlaw.
While getting autographs at the bioware booth he passed by and talked to some people.
I turn to the guy in front of me and say "was that who I think it was?"
He said "yes, you should go hug him."
So I did.
He was very huggable

Thanks everyone for the updates and thanks ladyiolanthe for the asking the question about the ball gown/dress. Sounds like a lot of fun being there... and now I'm looking forward to the live cc demo on twitch... even though I have to get up at 3am in the morning to watch it.

Yeah, Sylvius - it was pretty crowded especially in the middle of the day. I am an introvert so I`m now chilling out in my room alone with my cats reading and doing online stuff to recover. ![]()

Thanks for the reviews !I hope you all had fun !
I'm surprised by the click and drag in the CC, I tend to like sliders better (I'm more used to that , so it feels easier to get what I want.)
But it really sounds like the CC is full of possibilities .
The warden not coming back is a bit of a relief , I didn't feel like recreating my wardens ...
Nobody has been talking about face codes so I guess we won't have that.

Werent face codes just so you could re-create Shepard in 3 ?
Sad the Hero of Ferelden won't be returning, but will definitely like to hear what they have gotten up to.

Interesting how the character creation will likely take place right after the beginning incident. I wonder if you get to choose your race before you get to create your character, because I don't think you would walk around like a shadowed figure. There would be a difference between walking around like a quanari or a dwarf ![]()
Too bad there won't be any dresses for the ball as the inquisitor, but I can understand it partially. You would have to make dresses for four different types of races, which takes a lot of time (and money). But I wonder if the inquisitor will be wearing a formal outfit then?
And thanks Ladyiolante for bringing this news.

Okay, so one more thing: at the end of Cameron's CC demo, when he was satisfied with how everything looked and clicked OK, we got to see a few seconds of the very beginning of the game.

And Kantr, they could make rigid dresses, but I think it's a point of professional pride with the animators - they wouldn't feel good about putting that out in a finished product, much like they wouldn't feel good about clipping issues with longer hairstyles, as explained by askadev and elaborated upon by David Gaider here: http://dgaider.tumbl...haracter-design . I can respect that even though it may be disappointing for some to not have more flowy hair and garments.
