Yes there are games that sold better on PC. Diablo 3, Portal 2, Battlefield 3 (or was it bad company 2, don't remember), DA:O, Xcom:EU.

Not to disbelieve you, but where did you get the sales figures for BF3, DA:O and X-COM?
I do not doubt Diablo and Portal (since those only came to consoles later - and D3 hasn't even launched on the current-gen, yet) but if those are your best examples, I think the case for consoles is still open.

Of course other games like Minecraft, Skyrim, Left 4 dead, CS Go, Battlefield 4, and many, many others have sold JUST AS WELL as any single console, or better than any single console in some cases...

I'm going to guess that you're just lumping together, what? 4 different platforms and stacking them all against the PC, right? Rather lopsided assessment, no? Does the PC have to single handedly beat 4 platforms in order for it to count?

Yes, obviously. You're comparing platforms, no? Or single systems, now? Are you going to separate Nvidia and AMD PCs, too? The "console" environment obviously imply all of them - as the costs of porting are more integrated, even moreso in the current-gen. I believe most companies that release their games across the board feel the same.

But, hey, why can't people just let other people game however the heck they want? Why MUST one thing be better than the other?

PC Master Race executive CEO retard here... I think qaud-fire 6970's should still make this game look fine. Four your old system still running all current games maxed out on 1440 res. Enjoy upgrading everyone else  :P

PC, which is my main platform for gaming.  Although that "Master PC Race comment" is just stupid.  Sure, I've got a really nice gaming rig, but that gets pricey quick.  I can understand why some folks don't want to invest the $500+ dollars (depending upon the age of the computer) just for gaming.

They are ALL separate platforms. Sony promotes and competes with it's own platform, so does Microsoft, PC is yet another gaming platform.

Do you think publishers are keeping score like fanboys? PC is just another platform where they can release their games, and it appears to be doing just fine, considering most release games on PC, most have PC exclusives, most go out of their way to make their PC version the best it can be (almost always superior to the console version, with a few exceptions).

That was my point. Consoles would be exactly NO WHERE without the support of Sony/MS. PC completely lacks such support, and yet, it's friggin huge. That says something about the platform, IMHO.

Again, that was my only point, to point out the contrast between the 2 platforms. Not to get into a sales war, which is beyond ridiculous. Why do you care what system sells more copies? How does that benefit you as a gamer? Do you own stock in EA, Microsoft?

I wasn't aware that you can play sales... are they fun?

Nice almost retort, there. If you can't validate your own claims to sustain your point, this is (ha!) pointless.
I'll be playing on my PS4, you can play however you please, mate.

PC. I see no reason why I would play this particular game on outdated tech. Dragon Age: Inquisition looks like it will be great, so I will play the best version of the game available. It's also a better investment, since the only current-gen console I own is a Wii U. I like my Mario games.

Both XBOX 360 controller and XBOX ONE controller are fully supported by PC. There are very few games that actually don't support them, one of them being DA 2.

No BioWare game since Jade Empire has supported controllers on PC. Inquisition will be the first in a long time.

I've already pre-ordered for PC, but I own the first games on 360 as well so I might get it later for the 360 just so I have the full set for both :)

If I do end up getting the game then it will probably be on a PS4 I need to buy. I would like to get it on PC since I miss out on things like Steam and RTSs, but seeing as I have no idea how to build a PC, I guess that I will be stuck with consoles yet again.

ps4.

I find pc to be very complicated.  If I ever get a gaming pc, I will just buy one.  I don't even understand what GHz is.

Just don't like Window 8. Yes I build my own computers. Have been for the last 12 years. I hate pre-built because of all the garbage they put in them.

It'll be the PC for me as well.

I've played Origins on the PC, 360, and PS3.

DA2 on the PC and 360.

This time around though it'll only be for the PC. Not because of any console dislike but simply I can't justify buying two or more copies of a game any more.

It is a next gen title so it should be enjoyed as such in my opinion. Good titles should be experienced in the best way possible. There is no way i would play it on 360 or PS3 especially considering the 360 will likely be heavily downgraded and the PS3 will be low quality. The only way to go is PC or PS4. PS4 can easily handle the quality of DA3 as can a upgraded PC but i have major reservations about trusting an Xbox one considering its poor gaming performance.

I'll play on the PC and/or laptop as I am personally not too fond of controllers. Each their own preferences though :)

And yet, no single game that comes out both for PC and the current/last gen consoles sells more units on the former platform, now does it? That's a legitimate question, by the way. If there are examples of it, I'd sure like to know.

I mean, even Minecraft managed to sell more on the consoles, if you can believe the producer itself.

I think the point here is that Minecraft would have gone nowhere, had it been released on consoles originally. It's a success on the consoles BECAUSE  of its success on the PC. It's also typical for the explosive variety, originality, creativity and fresh blood that we have always seen on the computer side, ever since the Atari ST and Amiga, then the PC, - but NEVER  on the consoles!  On the consoles, all game genres (invented on other platforms) tend to dissolve their identity and instead converge to just implementations of the old, tired, ancient Space Invader paradigm. The changes to DA brought on by DA2 is a prime example, I would say. The console environment is ANTI-innovative.

If the business movers had any sense, they might have realized that all the problems of the gaming industry are tied to the publishing focus on consoles.  ...And the console audience, which is quite limited and in no way represents anything close to the full potential of the market for software entertainment.

P.S. The console edition is - of course - crippled.

P.S.2  PC-version has still outsold any console version. It's the 'console edition', on all formats, which has outsold the PC edition.

This is based on information you can't possibly have. Unless you want to call up Michio Kaku and tell him you solved the whole M-Theory stuff in regards to Multiple parallel universes, in which you witnessed your conclusion play out.

No. Microsoft does not compete with itself.  And that is a big mistake and already a nail in MS's coffin.

PC gaming comes very second inside Microsoft. MS pours money into and on the XBox. The PC is not allowed to compete with the XBox internally at MS, by leadership decision. The only PC-games that MS push are straight Windows adaptions of XBox games, with all their limitations and clunky interfaces.

Wrong. I say I have that information. It's a question of having enough pieces of the picture to be able to see the whole.
