I think I read that somewhere a while ago, was that confirmed or hinted at or was it just a blind assumption ? Regardless I think it would fit rather well.

Firstly, it would give them a reason to be at the Peace Meeting, they'd represent either their clan or the Dalish Faction as a whole.

Secondly, it would gel with the thing about the Inquisitor (and apparently companions) being older than the Warden and Hawke were

Thoughts ?

I don't know about being a Keeper, but any Keeper that claims to represent the Dalish faction as a whole is blowing smoke. There is no unified Dalish polity to claim such a role.

I think that an elven mage Inquisitor is the First, not the Keeper.

I thinking we may be a First to a Keeper, due to our age. I guessing maybe in our late twenties early thirties. Of course I could be wrong, Lanya could be a Keeper and she was younger than the other Keepers encountered thus far.

I think so too because it's only confirmed elven inquisitor is Dalish.

Well since the Elven mage is Dalish they could be either the Keeper or the First.

I would assume the First.

@Dean-> clan or dalish faction I said. Plus maybe they did come together to elect a representative due to the war

@Pokemario-> Any specific reason ? If it's about responsabilities that's an easy fix, your clan was at the meeting, Fade Breach exploded them along with everyone else

Some of the companions are said or are guesstimated to be 30 something, it wouldn't be a stretch in we were too

Some clans have more mages than just the Keeper and the First.   Merrill's original clan had a surfeit of mages and that is why she was given to Marethari as the clan did not have any mage children of their own.     Lanya says she was not the only one considered for First, so that would suggest other mages in that clan, even though we never saw them.

I await with interest what a Dalish would be doing at the Peace Conference.   The Dalish have never considered themselves under Chantry jurisdiction so it is hard to see why they would respond to a request for a representative, when I was under the impression it was called to resolve the Mage/Templar problem.  Nor would they be likely to be there simply as pilgrims.    This would suggest that the Inquisitor was there as an independent person, perhaps sent by the clan in the vicinity to find out what was going on and whether it was likely to pose a threat to them.

Once the companions have been fully revealed, I do hope we are given some background on this.    If I must be a Dalish elf, I would like to know why.

For all we know the Peace Meeting could be for the war as a whole and not just the mage-templar conflict

The blast radius was pretty large and your Clan was probably camped close enough to be affected by it.  You wouldn't be at the conference as a Dalish.

The Inquisitor apparently gets tossed into the Fade and avoids death unlike everyone else.  The Fade spits you out in a different location from where it gobbled you, closer to the Peace Conference.

That's my theory at least.

I'd like to think that, instead of another clan facing death (which is becoming a Dragon Age trope at this point for a Dalish clan), the protagonist might be interested in the apparition of Shartam in the temple.

Lol, wouldn't it be funny if the dalish inquisitor was just there to see what's up with the temple spirits and ignored the meeting ?

I would guess we are the First. So far the Keepers we've seen have been the oldest members of the clan.

While we're on the topic, where are all the other mages in the dalish clans? They don't send them to Circles, so where are they?

They distribute them around so that each clan has a Keeper and multiple First candidates

The Dalish view magic as a gift of the Creators, and the elven religion is criminalized in Andrastian lands, so the Dalish don't send their mages to the Circle; it's partly why they are nomadic. Mages can have different roles in the clan, aside from Keeper or First, like Elora, who tended to the halla.

Sorry i misinterpreted!

anyway yeah if the dalish is a mage, they're probably a first to the keeper, outside of that, they're probably just a successful hunter or something like that.

Ahh, I see. So we just weren't seeing them with staves on their backs and doing magic-y things. That's cool.

None of you have any idea how badly I want to be a Keeper. You don't understand. You just don't. I am hoping for this so hard I am practically giving myself Dragon Age induced stomach ulcers. Yes, plural. So many ulcers.

I mean, I'll be satisfied with being a First if I roll a mage because it makes sense, given our supposed age and all, but I really want to be a Keeper. I really want to be a Keeper. You don't understand. *gnashes teeth dramatically*

Why would a Keeper leave his clan behind? Unless an entire Dalish clan bites the dust, leaving the ex-Keeper free to pursue other new and exciting job ventures, I don't see the PC being a Keeper any time soon.

I think it would make sense being a Keeper. the Inquisitor is going to fill a leadership role in the Inquisition after all. A background in which they have some leadership experience could help with that.

I proposed exactly that above, your clan could be exploded by the Fade Breach

There is also the fact that Keepers are supposed to be extremely knowledegable (on paper anyway). That does not go well with the 'new player' mindset, that most PCs usually have. It seems much more likely that the PC will be a First of a Keeper.

A First is pretty knowledgeable too
