This may seem like a trivial Question, but I ask now to not only save myself time in doing this wrong but also to try make sure i learn from yourselves the experts on the best way to do things, so forgive me if the answers are simple, but the reality is I am building an entire server without any knowledge of actually what the hell i am doing half the time.

Only one way to learn, so every day i try get a little bit done.

Anwyay... Question

So i need to make a NPC that is a Banker so players can safely store items

I think he even needs to charge a little "fee" for his services and ofc he needs to keep their items safe after every server save / reset etc..

I dont really understand how this works, can anyone explain

A:- how to set up

B: how it actually works

Shop

How do i make custom items etc appear in a shop for players to buy stuff?

Money

Gold Silver and pennies have little use in my futuristic Sci Fi world,

are there others alternatives I could use or does anyone have experience in alternative money?

A simple solution would be to implement Scarface's Banking System, we have a modified version of it at Realms of Trinity. Although I believe that the system is exploitable, it will provide a good base to work from.

I wasn't able to find the scripts on the nwn vault v.2, so you might need to ask the admin over there if he can restore it from the old vault or something.

The main thing to consider is persistence.

If you want to use the banker themlseves as the repository you have to have a DB setup to store and recall values.

However, you could instead store values on an item in the players' inventories which is used instead.  So while they talk to the "banker" it is their own character BIC that contains the information regarding their funds.
