Speak to people who actually like the qunari on that note, then. I also am going to take some issue with your statement... in DA2 alone, only Varric, Isabela and Fenris seem likely to qualify for that. Bethany, Carver, Aveline and Merrill are innocent of it; Anders is vague (until later in the game, at any rate). In DAO, there are more of them, but Alistair, Morrigan and Wynne are all clean, at least.

Also, none of them are guilty of race-based hate crimes, which this is.

Good point, but I was actually referring to the murders you commit during the game. All of your companions willingly (and eagerly) cut down countless victims and to some (i.e pacifists) ANY type of killing would be seen as inexcusable and indefensible. Those types of people probably wouldn't play a game like this, but my point is that every companion has blood on their hands by the end of the game. And what if there's a really good, story-based reason the chevaliers kill city elves as part of their initiation?? The writers/devs have never really explained it as far as I know... It probably wouldn't satisfy everyone (there are some hard core elf-lovers here...) but there has to be a better reason than "just because".

Also they do nothing for the elves. They are racists too.

I feel like this was a huge missed opportunity for the "military" adviser instead of Cullen but :/

Regardless of what she has or has not faced, I would never give her up to my enemy. The qunari manage the astounding feat of being worse than the templars, and my preference would have been to kill all of them and resell the Tome of Koslun to Tevinter.

Seriously?  You don't believe in people paying for their crimes?  You may not agree with the Qunari, but Isabella is still a thief and a slaver and is the entire reason the Qunari are there.  I gladly turned her over for justice rather then killing the Arishok who was simply trying to recover his property.

Cullen is going to be the Cid of DA.  There will always be a Cullen in DA lol.

Agreed. There was even an entire thread discussing how Cullen really wasn't qualified to be a military adviser/strategist... I mean, honestly, he's a glorified prison guard that wears a dress! Michel de Chevin would have made much more sense... but I think the book was written too late for him to be included (although IMDB says that a voice actor has been cast to play "Chevin" in DA:I, so who knows...)

Every last one of them is a brutal murderer. If they're the closest to that archetype, the archetype is a lie; as if the templars hadn't proven that already.

Not that I'm at all in favor of a chevalier companion, but the Knight in Shining Armor archetype is a lie. Actual knights were little more than armored thugs.

"Simply trying to recover his property" by slaughtering countless innocent civilians? I always thought the whole "oh we're just searching for our little lost book!" was just a convenient excuse for the qunaris to stick around until they were ready to attack. I don't trust them and think they are all brainwashed brutes.

Well, Michel was a turd anyway.

But yeah Cullen is completely unqualified. He's like every crappy president/secretary of defence in B action movies thats totally incompetent so the hero has problems to solve.
