I know many fans of Bioware are still very upset about DA 2 and the ME 3 ending( my opinion on both things is the less popular I like DA 2 even though DA: O was much better and the ME 3 ending after the EC became quite good)

Still there was much negativity towards Bioware in the past years there's no denying that

I'm actually worried that this game won't sell as much as expected which could even lead to Bioware stop making Dragon Age games :o

Since this is the DA: I forum and many "harcore" fans are who are probably the most loyal as long as they think that it will be a worthy succesor of DA:O who everyone loved

So I'm very interested in what the general consensus is

Will you buy the game?

I definitly will! But its not me who Bioware needs to convince again

After Bioware's last two entries I won't be preordering or buying on release.

If the reviews are good (both professional and user) then I'll give it a try, either by demo or borrowing it. Then and only then will I consider buying.

They have a lot to do to earn my money this time, and there are many great RPGs being slated for release so it's not very important to me.

Hype level: -1

Bioware hasn't let me down so far. Disappointment over endings and little things are not enough to make me stop loving the bioware games. I've pre-ordered and I'm counting down the days! :D

At this point, day one buy is a definite no.  Whether I get it at all depends.

Still some info I'm still waiting to see as far as some class info especially ranger/rouge which I play the most in games.  Are the cities going to be alive and bustling, or static with just NPCs standing around like past DA games.  Those are a couple off the top of my head.  I'm also waiting to hear what one of my friends who I know is getting it has to say about it.

I have placed a pre-order for the game, if how I felt about both Dragon Age games and Mass Effect 3 were something that would prevent me from buying a game, I wouldn't buy any game ever for they all are disappointing in their own way.

Likely at some point. I got Mass Effect 3 about a year and a half after release.

I'll just quote my earlier post about this topic:

I will probably get DAI a year or two from now.

As to why, so far, DAI has little of interest for me: (below) average companions and dubious game mechanics modifications.

Now I know there is little information available of the actual game, but so far, I have a "bad feeling about this"
like I did with ME2.

I will be buying good or bad. My game experiences are such that even what is considered bad Bioware is good compared to some i....(but I have never played a bad Bioware game)

Yes I will ... I was not dissapointed by Dragon Age 2 , altho Mass Effect 3 whole ending debacle did left me very sour on that franchise , but Dragon Age hasnt as of yet , if they make another mistake like ME3 then im done with Bioware. But I hardly think it will come to that.

I say thats a very smart decision

you can't really trust the game reviewers but also not the gamers

Thats definitly something I learned

Like IGN over ME 3 original ending: it was a satisfying conclusion (WTF?)

or many hardcore gamers over the DA: II debacle: worst game ever piece of **** etc.( and then I played it and wondered

what all the fuss was about sure it was not better than Origins or even the GOTY but still people overreacted)

So in the end you can only trust yourself !

Pre-ordered the Inquisitor's Edition from Gamestop.com.  DA2 wasn't perfect, but it wasn't it wasn't as disappointing as ME3's ending.  Doesn't hurt it seems like Bioware listened to what the fans were saying and are giving us a game more like Origins... which is all most ever wanted.

I think there is a new thread like this every week. I was not going to preorder anything or buy anything full price. The ending of ME3 being the reason why. But I don't play many games I am a niche gamer Bethesda, Bioware, these are the games I play.  That being said I am a kindergarten teacher by trade and to know me is to know commander Shepard. I had an amazing family and a wonderful student who wanted to do something special for me at Christmas and again at the end of the year.  They knew I played Mass Effect and I was always talking about Commander Shepard in class.  EG: A student is getting rustrated when they are on their 3rd rewrite because they neglected spaces between words and they start to cry. "When Commander Shepard had to broker peace between the Quarians and the Geth did she cry about it?  NO, It was hard but she did it!  When She cured the genophage and gave the Krogan a future did she cry about it? No, it was hard but she did it! When the Normandy blew up and she was brought back to life by a terrorist organization and forced to integrate a new team in order to save the galaxy from Space cockroaches controlled by superpowered robots did she cry about it? No, it was hard but she did it.  I know learning to write is hard but I believe in you!  You can be like comander Shepard you can do it!"

They usually end up laughing at me and many kids join in on the refrain but it is a way I interject me into my classroom.

The family I was talking about gave a $25 Gamestop card for Christmas and $50 in Gamestop gift cards at the end of the year for teacher appreciation.  What am I going to do with $75 in Gamestop money? So I preordered the deluxe ed and spent $0 of my own money on it. Normally when I buy games I like to get the downloaded versions only either on Steam or Origin but I had to use those cards on something.

I loved DAO, ME1 and ME2, I enjoyed DA2 considering I only paid $20 for the game.  I felt robbed after playing ME3 because of the endings which took all the joy out of ME3 for me and I literally cannot play it because I feel like what's the point I only get to lose at the end. I adored Citadel DLC and tried to convince myself that it was the new ending but I just couldn't get back into it. I usually replay a game I enjoy for around 3 years multiple times. I replayed ME3 3 times.  So it is my hope that DAI can redeem the storytelling capacity of Bioware but if it does not at least I didn't pay for it.

Likely static. The gameplay demos at E3 showed static NPCs standing together just as is done in other Bioware games.

David Gaider has commented on it before:

http://forum.bioware...red/?p=16417890

There is also the question if DAI will even feature a city. So far no screenshot nor video has shown an actual city. With Halamshiral they have only shown a square with access road. And in the books they have conveniently closed off Val Royeaux.

I agree I actually like DA: II but one just has to wonder why Bioware suddenly wanted to something more innovative and how DA: II came to be

I mean wasn't it obvious that fans of origins who were expecting origins 2 wouldn't be exactly thrilled with DA:II?

Apart from taking place in the same universe almost everything was different in 2

Well whatever it was I suppose they learned their lesson and are returning to their succesful saving the world formula

I never seen any the hate for DA2 before i bought it, heck i only stumbled upon it by chance lol, so when i bought it i went home not even having read the cover, apart from the title, a very excited guy indeed, so after a troublesome time trying to get it to play since i never had internet at the time i finally got it loaded up, an tbh after spending months non stop apart from sleep on DA:O i was a tad disappointed, for me having not read or seen anything about DA2 an only ever played DA:O offline the disappointment never steemed from the actual game but from my thinking i was installing the next installation of my warden lol, but i soon got over that an enjoyed it for what it was.

ME3 was abit different, i seen an read all the hate surrounding the ending before i played it, so i decided when i installed to play it without the EC to see what the fuss was all about, while i understand the hate an disappointment i just dont get the frothing at the mouth alot seem to have, for me the ending woulda been better received if only other aspects of the game had bared more fruit, like imported renegade choices meaning something or a hell of a better priority: london showing all your assets at work, but again i still bloody liked the game lol.

Its why once the system specs are revealed and if my comp can play it i will pre-order my first ever game, simply because even at there so called worst i was still highly entertained and for me received plenty of game for my money
