well if you won'T buy the game just because the cities are not alive enough..

sry but thats a very stupid reason, its not supposed to be AC man

I would understand if one has a valid complaints like choices not mattering much ( see DA:II end decision)

because thats one of the most important things in an RPG

Immersion is always a valid complaint, and 'wax' cities most definitely break immersion.

No, I just visit the forums, watch every DA:I video and news article that I can get my hands on, and curate the Morrigan thread for sh*ts and giggles.

Of course I am going to purchase Dragon Age Inquisition.

I haven't looked forward to a game this much since Half Life 2.

I'll wait for:

1) System specs...runing at low is not an option for me and my rig is 2 years old.

2) How The Keep will indroduced and if it ends fail.

2a) if Keep is introduced late smth  a week before released I prob wait for a reviews, since if we all check October has a lot other games to offer

Not pre-ordering, since I haven't yet played DAII (and it irks me out you have to buy the DLCs with Bioware points, which don't get a discount :( ) and the only time I pre-ordered something was when ME3 came out :D

I consider pre-ordering The Witcher 3, but that's because I'd like to directly support CD Projekt Red, even if I won't be able to play the game on my laptop (like I wouldn't be able to play DAI either :/).

But I will certainly buy the game, at some point!

No, I'm not going to buy it. With that said, it doesn't mean I won't be playing it. After that, it'll determine if I stay with or abandon the DA series as a whole.

I doubt that anyone who isn't at least thinking about buying the game would come to the forums.

You said you were buying it for me OP.

You're not breaking a promise are you?

The Crows might have to hear about this.

Yes I'm going to buy it, and how. Assuming I'm not utterly crap at the VA session on Tuesday, I may be in it! I'd be a fool to miss out on my starring role as random peasant woman no.45 now, wouldn't I? :)

Without seeing the critical reception of the game, I can't say for sure. All the pre-release stuff looks great, and doesn't stink of the Ubisoft false representation mantra, in that the game doesn't look suspiciously good. (See: Watch Dogs E3 2013, and everything for The Division)

It may seem counter-intuitive, but I like seeing imperfections in PR stuff, flying NPC's aside. Limited Draw distance/LOD stuff, clipping, the odd jerky animation... All this stuff is just part of the technical translation of the gaming art, and if they're absent, you're almost certainly watching a lie.

@AllThatJazz:  Good luck!  Can't wait to hear random peasant woman no.45 tell me: "It's a pleasure to meet you Inquisitor."  or something.

I'll be like: "Hey AllThatJazz!  How's your climb to voice acting stardom going?"

Then que hours of headcanoned convo.

Hahaha, personally I can't wait for the inevitable Peasant45 x Nug/Broodmother/Bog Unicorn fan fiction .... ehhh, maybe I can ...

And thanks! x

Yes I will, I'm confident that this will be a great game. But this is Bioware's last chance with me. I don't give 4th chances, but I'm making an exception with this one because of two reasons:

1. DA:I has been in development for a lot longer than DA2 and ME3. The biggest reason DA2 sucked was because it was rushed as hell. ME3 also suffered from the short dev span, and you can see it especially in the final few hours of that game. But with DA:I, they've had a lot of time to work on it, so there's no excuse if the game ends up being a dud.

2. They've taken a lot of criticisms they've had over the years to heart and applied it to the making of this game.

If DA:I is as great as the Pre-ME2 Bioware days, then I want it to be a big success. I'm looking forward to the game and I hope it wins back the hearts of a lot of fans who got burned by the last two games.

I am stuck in the glorious agony of wanting to pre-order but unable to do so until I know the system specs. Of course I'll get it but I just might need a new graphics card first.

Not gonna buy it on release, wanna read some reviews first, hear what my pals think of it. Then I will decide on whether to purchase it or not.

After Bioware's last two entries I won't be preordering or buying on release.

If the reviews are good (both professional and user) then I'll give it a try, either by demo or borrowing it. Then and only then will I consider buying.

They have a lot to do to earn my money this time, and there are many great RPGs being slated for release so it's not very important to me.

Hype level: -1

god what you even doing here?

Bioware hasn't let me down so far. Disappointment over endings and little things are not enough to make me stop loving the bioware games. I've pre-ordered and I'm counting down the days! :D

pretty much this i didn't like the mass effect 3 ending myself (hence my username) but the mass effect trilogy was still a great game. And the citadel dlc was amazing fan service. I will always be there day one for bioware. They make amazing games

Seems like a very inflammatory question to ask in a dragon age inquisition forum, but, that said I will give you the benefit, and say yes I have pre ordered and will be buying.

Immersion is always a valid complaint, and 'wax' cities most definitely break immersion.

Depends somewhat on how long the intended exposure time is in such a space. If you just travel through it like we see in the Redcliffe Village, there's no real reason why the game needs to account for every NPC's daily life, not that it wouldn't be nice for sure.

Personally, I think a Fable approach is more in line with Dragon Age than an Assassins's Creed approach. As in relatively fewer NPC's, but each one has more of a unique imprint on the city/area. Though not going so far as to reach Skyrim-Fallout levels where every NPC becomes essentially unique to the point where the NPCs are finite and non-respawning. NPCs in Assassin's Creed/GTA on the other hand are little more than a single gelatinous mass or Hive Mind that have one or two actions per unit.

Don't assume this is me coming out in support of static NPCs though, I really don't like how Mass Effect and Dragon Age do NPCs, and this is doubly true in the new, more persistent world DA:I is trying to create.

Well, yes.  Probably.   I don't pay this much attention to a game and not expect it on my Origin account at some point.
