Okay i have quite an enormous task in front of me, well it seems that way to my untrained mind but perhaps to you the good people of the NWN community not so bad,

As the title suggests i need to balance out the game from scratch really so I want to take a chance here on what each race should be and "do" skill wise /. feats etc.

If i explain about the races, if anyone could give their ideas or views on the matter i would be very greatfull as at the moment im staring into the Abyss!

So what should be the base for STR, DEX, INT etc...... ?

ideas on skills and feats?

obviously NO magic involved in any race here APART from PRedators

im thinking a re-made Mana missile for the shoulder cannon and Invis spell for cloak

But mehh this is wayy off yet

Human

Self explanatory race. they are like you and me

I your case, balancing should be done by trial and error (to this day I still think this is the most effective way of doing things). Make the races and then run them through your content.

Classes and races aren't the only thing which need to be considered for balance, the campaign itself will have a big impact. Lets suppose for a second that there is a lot of piercing immunity on the monsters of your campaign; archers and other classes will negatively affected, but it won't be the classes "fault", or so to speak.

Don't forget you can use level adjustment to balance races as well.  Its not a perfect method, every lost level has a high impact at high levels, but depends on how fast you expect players to gain levels.

But from a lore point of view, the races are not balanced.  You need a whole platoon of humans to take down a predator (or one Arnold Schwarzenegger) and same goes for aliens (except this time you need Ripley).

So either you have to really work hard to balance the races, or i think apply LA and make XP rewards smaller for the higher LA races.

I personally don't like level adjustment. Its far more interesting to have some sort of special weakness (think Hexxat in BG: EE).

There is a guide to this somewhere, look for D&D 3.5 SRD stuff (or race creation templates).  That will get you balance as far as the race goes within the rules of the NWN2 engine (which are d&d 3.5).  If I remember, certain stats are worth more than others... Str +2 require 2-3 stats going down by 2 each, for example).  Unfortunatly, all the ECL/LA calculators I knew of are down and gone...you could use Pathfinder (some call it D&D 3.75)
