I can't wait till my friends, allies and LI calls me by my TITLE :'(
At least with Hawke it was technically our name.
How awkward is this going to be?

We probably get set surnames. Why not use them?
Inquisitor sounds so stiff and prude.
But we don't know how it's handled yet anyway, or do we?

Well at least it's better than not calling you anything.
*glares at Origins*
What did you expect?
Obviously super advanced type-input to voice conversion technology that allows all companions to say everyone's individual name AND surname and come up with smart AI nicknames based off them.
I wouldn't mind it. It's like when people are constantly called "Professor" or "General". I think it would work in majority of scenes but the more personal stuff they would need to change the wording a bit. Maybe a more origin-style approach where you are not addressed by any name and just spoken to.
It'll be interesting if they do use the Inquisitor's surname at all. Obviously the Warden had a set surname too, but it was hardly ever used unless you were a Cousland or an Aeducan, and even then not by much.
Hopefully surnames will change that a bit, but even then, what did you expect a system that pronounces the names each player types in?
Warden, Warden-Commander, Hawke and now Eminence/Inquistor.
Has for not using surnames remember this game is fully voiced and each race that the player can pick has its own surname. Words are money so easier to stick with one or two terms.
About 30 seconds after voice technology allows your name to be said in character voice:
Rude names videos on Youtube.
Stick of Truth's 'douchebag' character has it about right.
Sir douchebag!!
SirSer douchebag!!
You were formally knighted by the Wizard King!
A topic more trivial that Character Creation and hair to cause anxiety and gather complaints is quite the achievement. Again, if this is the worst I have to endure in the game, will be quite the happy Inquisitor....

i think we're gonna be hearing "inquisitor" alot. which i'm not too fond of myself. but, whatever.
i imagine your li will simply not call you anything so as to avoid the awkwardness.
If it's sarcastic, why make the thread at all?
And besides, sarcasm is very hard to notice on the internet, except for the post you put down in reply to mine.

I was just thinking it was be a mouthful, In-quis-i-tor from everyone every 5 mins, four WHOLE syllables!. 'Hawke' is like one syllable.
I was simply referring to people who thought I actually expected personalised names.
Yeah probably just going to be called Inquisitor, not that catchy really
Warden, Warden-Commander, Hawke and now Eminence/Inquistor.
I'm fine with Eminence, it's way better than the generic Inquisitor and it has a nice ring to it c:
And as for the surnames, I think it'll be rare to hear them but I do hope our LI's/Companions use them every once and a while after we establish a closer relationship with them
tbh, i would like a nickname for our closest allies/li to use occasionally.
mmm, yeah that'd probably be best... looking at some of the known surnames, they'd sound somewhat odd.
Nah, everybody will just yell "hey you!"
Every Bioware protagonist is hated by parents so much they don't even gave name.
