The Main Theme resembles the song very closely. I wonder if it's even allowed.

Here's DA:I's theme by Trevor Morris:

And here's Pippin's Song:

Someone tell Trevor he has 3 months to come up with a new title track. :P

It is also possible Bioware and Trevor Morris were allowed to use parts of that song. Heck, in the Guardians of the Galaxy movie trailer you hear the same exact theme song as well. I just find it doubtful that anyone involved in that particular track "stole" it without any company making a ruckus about it.

The Main Theme resembles the song very closely.

Just to be precise: for the first three beats it's close enough to be an arrangement of the song. But that's it, after that Morris takes it in a different direction.

And in comments to DAI main theme someone found it resembling Stark theme from GoT:

Have heard it said that the cello is the musical instrument that closest resembles the human voice (or is it the oboe?). In any case, there is a resemblance at the start and this might be part of the reason, but the change in tempo, instrumentation, etc is clearly evident shortly after.

Pippin should be proud....

Those two tracks sound completely different to me, except for the very beginning.

I think they're different enough that it doesn't matter too much. There is a lot of modern music that borrows from older/other pieces. The gladiator's theme from The Gladiator movie totally lifts whole sections from Holst's "Mars" from "The Planets".

Then also, John Williams has written so much music for so many movies that sounds so similar that I sometimes have to concentrate really hard to figure out whether a song is from ET: The Extra Terrestrial, Indiana Jones, the original Superman movies with Christopher Reeve, or from Star Wars the original trilogy.

I had actually found myself thinking the same thing every time I heard it.
