Say we choose an Elven inquisitor which i plan on doing, the elven inquisitor is from a dalish clan right wouldn't it be weird that the dalish inquisitor's entire clan all have Irish and Welsh accents while the Elven inquisitor can only have an English or american one? it's just a lore related aspect that's inconsequential but has been bothering me .

Who is to say when u get in to DA:I an meet a dalish clan (if you do) they will be speaking in that accent? if the dalish are all spread out through thedas cant they have different accents? or are they focused on one country?

Different clans have differents accents. Due to ElfQuizzy having two accents to choose from, you might be from a different clan than your clanmates. Or, we might not even see any of your clanmates, and we can just assume they have your accent.

If we see the Inquisitor's clan they'll likely have English or American accents, or if they don't, our Inquisitor could be from some Fereldan village/city to handwave the different accents.

As already mentioned before, different areas have different accents. We've only come into contact with a few Dalish clans. Anything is possible!

I actually hope the Dalish go back to having American accents, that weird mishmash of accents in DA2 was weird to me, and Merrill and Marethari's accents were grating imo.

They retconned the dumb accents into DA2 in the first place, might as well retcon the retcon

The Dalish all had Irish accents, with the exception of Merill, who had a Welsh accent.

Is Sera dalish though?

And as with everyone said, elves adapt their accent according to where they're from, which is the explanation why Dalish accents haven't been so consistent. As with Merrill's clan there was a mixmatch of accents, herself being welsh, some others being welsh while others were irish and of course a few even had a flat american accent. Thus allowing freedom for accents when it comes to elves. Personally I'm gonna go for a male American voice for mine just to sound a bit more unique when compared to others around me, though this is pending if the English voice is more appealing :3

Sera is a city elf, so her accent will reflect the region she's from.  Probably Ferelden.  Solas, who knows, probably the same.  And, of course, the Dalish clans we saw in DAO were all American as I recall.... even Merrill and Marethari!

Yeah i thought she was a city elf for some reason, probably has to do with her dealings with Red Jenny and that you find her among the commonpeople or something. But yeah her accent seemed like a very, for a lack of better word, "ghetto"-Ferelden from what we've heard with a very sharp tang in her voice which I think fits perfectly with what we are told about her.

I thought the devs said the Elf Inquis would be a city Elf not Dalish  ?

Nope, sorry smoke and mirrors but it's been confirmed multiple times that all elves whether they're rogue/warrior or mage are Dalish.

actually, it was intended for the city elves to have varied accents depending on the area they live in, and the dalish were meaant to have irish/welsh or whatever

I would've like a different accent for my Kossith characters than an English or an American one. It would feel weird doing multiple playthroughs with different races with the same accent. It's the same feeling I'd get when watching those custom made Shepards use the same accent as my own character, only in this case I think the weirdness is amplified.

While I would've liked some sort of accent for Qunari/Kossith's they've been generally "American" since the first game out of all the ones we've seen, as are the dwarves. Elves even have been shown to switch accents depending on where they're from like humans. I'm curious as to what denotes an American Human since we haven't seen an American sounding human otherwise I'm forgetting someone minor, but elves, dwarves and qunari have all had an American voice at least once. Maybe they're Ander from the Anderfels? :3 *oozes speculative juices*

'Working class East End Londoner' would be a more accurate description of what Cockney is.  There is no 'British' accent.  Every region has its own accents.  London itself has different accents in different parts of the city.

C-O-C-K-ney. Not lower class, it's referred to as working class. Calling it lower class british is misleading.
