What Companions are you NOT going to let join the Inquisition, based on who your PC is?

I know in a Bioware game turning away a companion seems like shooting yourself in the foot. Loosing all that content seems wrong but for certain Play through's it makes sense for who My PC is during that playthrough to tell companion whoever to go home & be a family man. (Or kill them B) )

Eg: a Cousland who kills Nathaniel for revenge against the Howe family or a city elf who always kills Logain.

Now For DA:I I'm thinking my Mage character will be rejecting the Iron Bull's services (Will kill him if possible) seeing as he is a Qunari Spy and all. Tell him to **** off back to Par Vollen. "Yeah sure I'll let the Qun spy on Thedas, no bother Buddy! Want to sow my mouth closed while your at it?!"

For my Qunari character I'll tell Dorian to take a hike back to Tevinter. Will mess up his hair & Mustache if possible.

Sera could also be problematic for my more... Pragmatic Inquisitors seeing as  "Doing something for the "Greater good" Makes her angry" And seeing as pragmatic characters are my favourite... well....

So anyone else have any other play through's like this lined up? Any characters you might turn away/kill or be mean to based on who your PC is?

None. I always take as many as I can, which is to say all of them. Lacking party members removes content, removed content means removed fun, removed fun means what the hell am I doing(?).

I won't be taking Cole with me on my first playthrough, my Mage inquisitor is not gonna trust a "demon" that no one knows anything about. He grew up in the circle and doesn't **** around with dark magic.

Maybe if I see something on YouTube that makes me wanna take him with I'll grab him in my 2nd playthrough.

These threads that pose questions like "which companion will you [insert thing]?" puzzle me.

Varric, Cassandra and to some extent Cole are known personalities, but everyone else really is just a face. How can we really know who we want to [insert thing] with at this stage?

I ask, not as a veiled judgment, but because I see so many users have really firm ideas about characters and I wonder just what is fueling such opinions?

I will probably at least recruit all of them.... Not sure how long some of them will last though.... I'm trying to avoid knowing what IB's "spying" thing really is(limited success there), but it could be a problem or it might not phase me at all. Vivienne may leave or be killed at some point as well.... being a pro circle b word, I don't think I'll get on with her.... don't know if I'd kick dorian out but I sure as hell would like to tell him his mustache looks stupid.

My main character will welcome everyone.

For other playthroughs? Who knows.

I recruit everybody. I've played DA:O enough times that I'd Conscript all of my enemies if I had the chance. My PCs usually have that in common with the Qunari.

I collect them all, even the ones I hate and can easily skip (Fenris), I'll still recruit them and make sure they stay around.

Seeing as how you can apparently send companions out to do their own jobs, it would be a waste to refuse anyone. I'll probably send Sera out to go collect boar livers... for 10 weeks.

Nobody. I'll recruit everyone with my first character.

Whether or not they stay however remains to be seen.

Normally I would want to take all of the available companions. However, I will be roleplaying my canon/first Inquisitor in a very specific way. So, justifying Cole's presence in the party will be difficult, so I might not take him. If Iron Bull makes his affiliation with the heathen Qunari known, it will not end well for him.

On my first playthrough, I will recruit all of the characters where possible.

I may start leaving Cole behind on future playthroughs however, unless I warm to him. I stopped recruiting Fenris in DA2 after my second playthrough because I loathe his character.

None, regardless of who I am at the time.  One consistent personality characteristic I will have is the belief that everyone willing to help is useful, in their own way.

This is unplanned, as it depends quite a lot on the experiences found in game. My Cousland 2H Warrior refused to help both Sten and Zevran as he saw them as the same type of murderous thugs used to kill his own family. But other origins, including other Cousland runs were played differently (eg; pragmatic, power hungry, clairvoyant, etc). We will see.

On my first playthrough, everyone is welcome. Perhaps on a mage playthrough I won't accept Cole or I'll be a Qunari skeptic and distrust Iron Bull. We shall see.

Roleplay is part of it. For example, a Dalish Inquisitor who holds traditional views sees all spirits as dangerous - to the point of avoiding magic that involves spirits, so conscripting Cole would be hard to justify, unless the elven protagonist is more like Merrill, and unorthodox in certain respects to cultural views.

I'm recruiting everyone the first time. Future playthroughs however, I don't know. If it turns out I dislike... Sera for example, I just won't recruit her the second time.

It depends how they're introduced - we have the basics about them all now, but that still leaves plenty of room for them to be presented from a variety of different angles.

So it's too soon to tell, at least as I see it.

My femquisitor needs no help. They will just get in the way and slow her down. But since you can finish the game with one by your side, whoever it may be, I will only recruit one, if its even possible. This  I will do for one playthrough

In other playthroughs I will recruit all or some of them.

For my first Inquisitor I'll almost certainly recruit everybody. Given the personality I have sketched out in my head though, I can see me coming into conflict with Sera and possibly Cole, so they might be for the chop.
