After looking at screens of our companions I've noticed that almost all, if not all of them, got brown eyes.

Even Leliana whose eyes were blue in Origins suddenly got brown eyes.  However there was a shift with noone else but Vivienne, of course, where her eyes went from brown to blue in the sad piano trailer.

Do you think its a bug or are we in for browneyedquisition along with the long estabilished baldquisition?

I think it's simply the eye colour they've chosen. I don't understand why they changed Leliana's eyes, but I'm fine if everyone else has brown/hazel eyes. It's the most common eye colour anyway.

As long as I can give my Inquisitor some extremely rare or non-existent eye color like pale blue, gold or purple I'm happy.

I'd rather not have all our companions brown-eyed. Yes, brown eyes are the most common because they have the dominant genes, but that doesn't mean everyone in your group has to have brown eyes. It's boring. Where are the blues and greens for variety?

The change with Leliana is the most bizarre, since for two games she's had blue eyes then all of a sudden they're brown. I'm hoping that it's either the lighting making them look odd or Bioware is just using a placeholder colour, like the pattern on companion's clothes.

They were blue in one of the trailers. I remember it caused a bit of stir around here when it first came out. :P

You can change the appearance of your followers so it really doesn't matter.

Source? You can only change the armor (and weapons) they are wearing.

You can change their armour and items, not their physical appearance.

They also mentioned it in a couple of interviews

Here is Viv in one image she is bald, in another she has the horned hair that we've seen in the trailers, and she is lighter in color in some versions and darker in others.

I had not heard that.

"Completely" is a lot.

Well, "completely" is hyperbole.  Unless I can make Vivienne look like a flamingo, and Blackwall look like an antelope.

To me, reading people's posts about the prevalence of brown eyes is... well, surprising. Because out of, say, 75 people I know personally and whose eye colour I can remember right now, only about a fourth have brown eyes. Maybe even less than that. And people I don't know, people I see in the streets? Green, grey, blue, mixed greenish gray, blueish green, etc. - all around me. Brown or hazel - not so many. I don't say rare, just that there are considerably fewer people with brown/hazel irises. Maybe it's just typical for my city, region or country - it's hard to say.

Nevertheless, having a predominantly brown-eyed team seems odd to me. Especially taking into account Leliana's unexpected recolouring.

Pretty sure it depends on where you live. Nearly all non-caucasian people have brown eyes.  Blue/green eyes run in my family, but beyond that I know way more people with hazel/brown eyes. I found Leliana's recolouring weird and unnecessary, but the prevalence of brown eyes didn't surprise me. Brown eye color is dominant.

In none of those does she have "horned hair" *a la Flemeth*, they're all simply hats for her to equip. I'm not too sure we should take the "completely control" the appearance of our companions literally down to physical changes. I don't think they're gonna let us change Varric's hairstyle or Dorian's mustache. But if they do, that'd be cool and all but it'd be overkill i think, idk.

More on topic, I personally believe that the brown eyes are placeholders until the final game, but that's just me being optomistic. Since Leliana was blue eyed *unlessomethinghappenedthatchangedhereyecolorxD* and Solas was shown with different eye colors and so on. So here's to hoping that it's just a detail left to put in in the final game.

sorry for double post but I just found this on another eye thread, focusing on Leliana.

Before you implore me to not change Leliana's eye color know that the seemingly brown eyes are a bug in some screens are a bug.

Hopefully this applies to all of the companions and not just Leliana.

None of those are hair. The're all hats.

By "completely customize", they're referring to the customisation of equipment. Something that wasn't present with the previous game, and they can therefore market it as a feature.

I've always known it was a bug, but I had to point out how really funny it was that they all have the same eye color :P
