I was just reading The World of Thedas when I came across one of the excerpts which came from a lecture at this University. Reading this gives me hope that we might get to actually visit this location in it's full fledged glory. I feel like schools aren't things that are explored much in video game worlds even though citizens of x game world must be getting educated someway. I can totally see myself spending entire gaming sessions just talking with scholars, listening to lectures, and just reading up on DA lore. But Orlais being what it is, I imagine the students being extremely snobby and/or preppy-like.
I hope we get to visit the University of Orlais

I can't say I expect it to be featured in the game, mainly because Bioware rather conveniently closed off the gates of the city of Val Royeaux in, I believe, the last book. And so far none of the screenshots nor trailers seems to have shown Val Royeaux and only old art does.

If Isolde and a few other Orlesian reps are any indication, only if there is an optional Mute toggle for NPC's ....

I believe The Masked Empire novel's opening location is the University of Orlais, and it was described quite vividly, I do hope we get to visit it as well.

it'd certainly be an interesting place to visit. i'd be happy getting to visit any sort of sizeable orlesian settlements though, we've not seen many cities or towns so far in DA

No Pre-release Skyrim art showed off the region of Blackreach, which turned out to be arguably the most impressive area in the game.
Val Royeaux deserves to be its own entire region, with the same amount of gameplay and exploration you'd expect from all the combined areas of any other region, like The Dales. My unreasonable hope is that the things like the University and Grand Cathedral would just be smalerl slivers of the overall Val Royeaux region, because that'd be the only way to not short-change a place with such an important place in DA lore/history.

If we do get to visit I hope we get to take them to task about being douches to elves. Yeah.
