It's possible, but I have real doubts that Cassandra, Dorian, Cullen, or Sera are racegated. Being heterosexual or homosexual, also being racegated would limit how many people could experience that content.

 

That's what I think too, but remember they said they were focusing on character reasons for someone to be race-gated. And Cullen at least has said some racist things in the past, so... not impossible. But yeah, I feel like our odds are pretty good.

Iron Bull WAS going to be race gated. John Epler worked super hard to make it work cinematically so that he wouldn't have to be.

Oddly, I'm finding I'm more relieved for myself than not the IB is a romance. At least I can do one straight romance that I'd find interesting (admittidley because he's a Qunari and no other reason)

Given his interview comments about not wanting to be seen as just an elf, I seriously doubt he's race-gated. Solas, I mean.

 

... But yeah, we don't know who is or isn't race-gated, do we? Iron Bull and Josephine aren't. I think everyone else is up for grabs. So you're right, still not guaranteed.

This is my predictions:

 

Solas--Lives half in a dream, rather focused about his work.  Plus, a good chance to break the "all elves are romances" BioWare tradition.

 

Blackwall--Probably down to flirt, but will likely reject further advances in order to avoid breaking the Quizzy's heart.

 

Vivienne--Doesn't mind if it's a lady or a lad, but will probably not want to romance elves, and possibly Qunari.  Their views on mages are a *touch* extreme and I can see Vivi having a prejudice based on that.

 

Varric-Dwarf and elven ladies.  I still think he's going to be straight, if he's a LI.  I would rather he be available to both genders, but that's my hunch.

If Cullen is race gated because racism, that will only increase my beef with him. And I really don't want to dislike him anymore!

I actually kinda suspect that Vivienne will be human-only. She's a political figure in a really racist society, wouldn't surprise me if she feels like she has to bend to the rules. Varric... I've got no idea at this point. Agree with Solas and Blackwall.

I only got it second-hand myself. Apparently if you bring Oghren with you into the tower in DAO, he says some rather unfortunate things about dwarves.

While I play dwarves a lot, I don't really remember much of Cullen in DA:O . He didn't make much an impression ^^;;

Something I should mention, I've been assuming Vivienne was human only and Iron Bull was human or qunari only, because 1) I figured all the race-locked characters were bi, and 2) I figured all the race-locked characters were available for humans. Unless Varric is bi and only locked for qunari, one of those rules is now wrong. So who knows what'll happen?
