I know the feeling well, I was desperately infatuated with Joker back before ME3 launched.  This thread's a lot nicer than the threads back on the BSN used to be, though.

 

It's good to not get your hopes up, but there's also no sense in getting to down about it now.  Heaven forbid the worst comes to the worst, you'll have time to be sad then.

 

Enough with the downer stuff, though.  Long time lurker here, just wanted to pop in to offer some support, both in favour of a Varric romance and of the moral variety.

Iron Bull was my back up as well. If I can't romance Varric as a Qunari I'll be sure to have a play through where I romance IB as a dwarf.

I am back from the Solas thread ! I wished them good luck and told them to not count themselves out just yet.

 

 

YES, I want a Varric romance but face it, no one is out just yet and I don't like seeing people as nice as Solas thread so down.

I'm a Blackwall fanboy. Varric's my first choice, but Blackwall would be my second.

All of this guessing is making me giddy with anticipation. And desiring both Solas and Varric has never been more distressing xD

 

I can't say I won't be disappointed if Solas/Varric is picked over Varric/Solas, but I certainly won't complain. Cullen, Iron Bull, and whoever ends up next are all completely drool worthy.

Thanks! I'm not in the Blackwall thread, but I think they've been more-or-less in the same underdog boat with the Varricmancers. Still, no one's officially out of the race yet.

I've been wondering the same.  I really think Varric is gonna be the last one announced.  While I hope he's bi, I have this sinking feeling he only prefers the ladies.  Plus, he's a returning party member (not just cast member) and a looooong time request for a romance.  My heart does go out to whomever is left out.

The thing is, GaymerX isn't really about specific games, it's about the state of queer characters and developers in the industry. I didn't want to say before, but I always felt like the people who thought that this is it, now we find out everything were kind of missing the point. We got one character, which was about all I was expecting. I'm not saying the other two definitely aren't straight, but it seems pretty unlikely.
