Merrill's looks and personality changed a lot, which took me way by surprise at first, I remember bringing up the personality part once, and someone got mad at me so I never did again... I don't like conflict. >.> 

 

There are some characters (and therefore threads) I'm more interested/regular in, but I don't personally feel rivalry between anything myself. :3 It's fun to be able to get along with everyone ~

It's showing for me.

 

I discovered that the reason the past Varric threads were HUGE is due to the fact they are actually filled with a lot of hilarious memes and photoshopped Varric, chest hair, so on and so forth. The first thread got locked down due to off-topic posts.

 

I miss those crazy people.

 

While it's fun to have insane jokes (we're having a few here now) moderation is key!

It would help if we knew whether or not Varric was a LI.  That helps prevent things from getting too far off-topic.  The only reveal I want more at this point is Scribbles' name.  Her fans really need the love far more than we do at this point.

 

Oh, I forgot to mention: Thanks to the Varric-as-Santa pic, I had the original Eartha Kitt version of "Santa Baby" stuck in my head as I slept.  Well played.

Intimidation, yes...or that.. I know that the crazy threads that move 6989583473mph with a lot of in jokes can feel a bit intimidating, I think that's what it is...maybe...

Oh wow... someone called Brian Bloom before he was revealed? That's pretty impressive. This sounds like it would have been an excellent intro to Varric... the writers should do something like this on all the character thread Have little dialogues with their characters. It would be quite entertaining.

The early incarnation of the Varric thread was very strange.

 

The first one got locked down after the in-joke on Dave of Canada getting sucked into the depths of Varric's chest got out of hand. Admittedly, I was having too much fun participating in that monstrosity as I was still a BSN n00b.

 

The second thread had its moments, people calling Varric a potato-head and "obese" as his early screenshot was super blurry which made him look like he had a neckbeard.

 

Also, back then, reporting trolls and spammers was near-impossible. So there was this one guy who posts a wall of text consisting rap lyrics while "flirting" with female members and insulting male ones in a ghetto manner. Note that he was unprovoked.

 

There were also Chinamen selling shoes, mangiraffedog and shock pictures. (all trolls/spammers, NOT real Varric fans).
