I only know Varric from DA2 & I know they did comics &/or books with Varric in them. I haven't read them. Did they explain Bianca, the person? Were they married, only lovers, business partners, etc. I thought I read somewhere she had a hand in making or designing his crossbow. What's the story?

This has been a theory for me! Maybe that would be a reason to hunt down Bianca, also, to let her fix it?

 

This could very well be his personal quest, but then, I also think we'll find out more about his Mother. After all, dead or insane Bartrand = Lordling Head of House Varric. Maybe she'll try to drag him back home like a runaway bride to save the Tethras name.

Yes! I remember the Bella one, as Anders/Bella were my only romances in that game.. did he have one for Fenris too? I'd imagine he would. Varric, being the total best friend gotta love him. My Hawke's mind during the scene: "Well, I would dump him/her for you..."

 

Actually, if we even had the chance to say that, he woulda probably laughed and taken it as a joke. >.> lol

What's a good romance somg for Varric? Not too jokey, not too melancholy, kinda feel good, but sweet...

 

The song I immediately thought of was "Fine By Me"  by Andy Grammar, it the right combination of sweet, fun, and casual, with a mild bittersweetness I think it works well for Varric.

They were at very least confirmed lovers, I do think they were in love, but never married or anything. They were both on the run from the Merchant Guild together. She designed his Crossbow, it's still unclear what happened to her but Varric only says she is "lost"

Good, I'm glad. My memory's normally pretty good, but I worry.

I'd love to hear your reasoning behind this choice It seems a little more intense than I would expect for Varric, what made you pick it? 

Well, two reasons.  First of all, I'm a little bias: I've been pen pals with the bassist for almost 10 years.  Secondly, I always thought that Varric used his humor and his hyperbole to cover up a lot of intense emotions.  

 

While we've gotten glimpses here and there of his depth of his heart (more so in the comics,) I think that's just the tip of the iceburg.  I believe that once he falls in love again, his emotions will be every bit as intense as that song is.  Also, it is a little melancholy, reflecting his possible fears about not living to see another day.  It's like...if he had just one last song to sing before the world ends, he would pour his heart and soul into it.

 

It's way more than a romance potential or anything like that for me.  In some ways, I relate a little bit to Varric.  Family that doesn't understand you, using charm and wit to cover deeper pain, and trying to deal with your world coming down.  Even if I cannot romance him as a player, that little bit of connection will never go away.

 

More or less.

I think by this point we all can empathize with each other on a pretty good level. Personally, you guys are my only people to talk about this stuff with so I cherish each and every one of ya.

Nah, we're good on blood sacrifices.  Just good wishes and hopeful thoughts is all we need.  Besides, many of us are rogues, not mages.  The mage-types that are around aren't exactly into blood magic.
