It wouldn't bother me so much if people would stop acting like their stance was more ethically pure all the time. People were upset about race-gating because it felt racist to them, and y'know, I sympathized. But now Iron Bull isn't race-gated, and people are acting more upset 'cause they didn't want him and now it'll affect characters they like? Yeah, racism was never really the issue, was it? It's just insulting.
Was there that kind of bickering when it was announced that the DA2 were playersexual? Seems like there would have been a lot less, "I don't want them, you take them! No, I don't want them, you take them!" and "Mine! Mine, mine, mine!!! Stay back! Mine!"
...No, I've read the archives. It was worse in some ways. The homophobia was legendary at some points, and this was even before the game came out. The game came out right after the LI announcement and yeah...you've heard some of the stories I'm sure. 
Again, I'm glad that not only the climate on the BSN has largely changed, but the gaming culture itself is improving in those areas. Thank Odin.
Pre-DA2 the threads weren't as easy to catch up with so I only ever stuck within the Varric thread. :/

A lot of us went from thread to thread, offering well-wishes, congrats to the IB and good luck to everyone. This section of the forums can get extremely heated, so I figured why not celebrate our love for DA for a few minutes. We've also had a lot of folks coming by to wish us luck as well. For once, there is some cautious but warm fuzzies going on in here.

I also just figured out why that song's perfect for Varric, he'd be exactly the type of person to sing about an overflowing river that way... makes me want to write a "Kirkwall and I" parody. Now just add a fem!Qunari with a guitar and we've got the perfect gender flipped version of that scene.

I've been planning a qunari playthrough. If Varric is confirmed but race-gated, I'm gonna have some hard decisions to make.

Does the BSN allow you to use html for formatting at all or is it just BBCODE? Maybe that's Clock's problem, xe needs to use the url tag instead of the href.

Also I've found that youtube videos will usually show up in the forums automatically if you make the link it's own paragraph. No tags needed.

Type in [url=www.whateverurl.com ]word[ /url] around your link as shown with no spaces. Once you've got that down, you should be able to highlight the word you want to italicize.
