Yeah, spoiling Shale is weird, especially because... wasn't she DLC? It's been a pretty long time, but I could swear she was. o.o

Wow, I'm surprised they spoiled Shale.  That's a biggie.  I mean, having an elf assassin and a dwarven warrior isn't exactly novel in games like this, but Shale certainly was.

Too be fair, Shale was DLC, she's kind of like Javik, you gotta let the user know what they're buying.

 

Still I mean, they've "spoiled" all the companions for us this time as well, how are Shale, Ogrhen and Zevran different?

 

 

A lot  of those really obscure ones have five or six different spellings.  It was written when I discovered them.

 

You know what Orlais needs?  A bete du Gevaudan random encounter.

Seriously though, the team's been constantly making jokes about wanting to do a song and dance routine a la BtVS. It'd be an amazing historical reference, and an opportunity for your companions to bust some moves. And unlike the real life example, we can always fall back on "a wizard did it" as an explanation.

I would suspect that they probably did what they almost did with Anders and give away too much of the plot.  Shale makes sense, but they probably could have handled it without story spoilers.

Dear god, what were they revealing about the past games? I thought they'd already given us quite a few spoilers, but it sounds as though they've been surprisingly tight lipped this time around.

I hope we get the chance to meet Bianca. Whether he reunites with her or not I want the chance to talk to the woman who has captured his heart and held it for all these years.

Seriously though, the team's been constantly making jokes about wanting to do a song and dance routine a la BtVS. That was what I was getting at with "mages everywhere."

 

We got Kal-El for some reason, why not real-world French folklore?  And "something weird is dragging away men, women, children, and livestock in the night" sounds like a DA sidequest.

How do you think might it be plot related? 

The Carta and the strong hints of Varric's and Bianca's ties to it in the past.   I've kicked around a few ideas:

 

1) The Carta's role in Legacy is going to come up.  After all, Varric did have to kill Bianca's (the xbow) creator, and I have a feeling that Bianca (the woman) may have heard of that.  I'm also willing to bet the knowledge that part of the Carta broke off and vanished was spread throughout the organization.

 

2) If they play their cards right, they could have a stronger foothold in the black market trade.  With the Circles gone and the Chantry divided, getting legitimate lyrium supplies could be rather difficult from some groups.  The Carta is happy to help with the cost...

 

3) They've full blown mostly fallen in league with the Red Templars due to the red lyrium driving them insane.  Bianca asks for Varric's help in trying to save some of her friends.

 

4) A bounty on Varric's head for the deaths of several Carta members (in and out of the DLC,) has been issued.  Under false pretenses, Bianca has come to end Varric for good.

 

5) Bianca is torn between the Carta and her former lover.  She's passes Varric along information that's crucial to a major quest.  Stating that she can't get too deeply involved, she lets Varric know that she never meant to hurt him so bad.  They then part ways, leaving Varric free to move on.

Ohh these are all wonderful ideas, I'm especially intrigued by the one's involving the red lyrium/lyrium trade I can see how that could become a major plot point... Oh god, what if Varric has to do to Bianca what he did to Bartrand!? That, that could seriously mess him up.

I would be totally cool with Varric/Bianca getting closure and parting on good terms, and a quest leading up to that would probably be really interesting.

Oh, if you guys haven't seen this yet, I started a thread in the Feedback section.  I'm putting in a request for a spoiler-free subforum.  There has been several posters that I really like that are talking about leaving the BSN once the last of the LIs are announced due to risk of spoilers.  I don't want to see some of them (or some of you guys) feel like they have to leave the forums just so they can be more surprised when the game launches.

I was and I'm alergic to ibuprofen so I usually tough out my headaches, but I'm someone who can barely sit still so I figured I'd check in.
