1. I think the "fetish" comments from David Gaider were overblown. I don't have a link to the specific tweets (they're in the Romance thread if you want 'em, best of luck) but the issue was that he called it a fetish because people were asking for "a qunari" or "a dwarf" rather than specific characters whose personalities they liked. I don't agree with that particular stance of his, but it was never about dwarfmance in general. In fact I think he said that Varric almost ended up a romance in DA2.
2. People are being idiots about bisexuals again? Awesome, except the opposite of that.
3. How often do the devs post in the other threads? Just looking for a frame of reference here.

Actually, according to Allan (it's in the romance thread, if you want to go through BW posts,) Iron Bull really was intended to be race-gated. He doesn't want to say against which races, at least not for quite some time after the game comes out. So it seems to be true that "story reasons," are going to be why the gating happens.
Anyhow, coffee is needed. I'm still a sleepy tiefling.

Weirdly, no. I'm pretty convinced that Varric, Vivienne, or Cullen will be the race-locked LIs (probably not Cullen, but I still think he's a possibility), but none of them say anything I could read as pro- or anti-racegate. Even the comment about Varric not getting along with Iron Bull was in Iron Bull's interview. Which came out before Varric's, so I'm not sure that means much, but it's a puzzle.

I think it could be - I mean, I've been arguing Cullen might have a problem with other races, so yeah. But culture and current events can cause a pretty complicated interplay, and we really don't know anything about what's going on. So I'm not making assumptions.
At this point I think it's pretty safe to say that absolutely anything you say in there about anything is likely to ****** someone off...

LOL Honestly, they aren't that bad. There's just some topics that come up that it's best to avoid. At this point, mainly a Varricmance and the racism debate are the two big things to not talk about, and I'll admit I'm a little bitter about the former.
I read about the Iron Bull "slutty manwhore" comment and just so you guys know, some of the other bisexuals that don't post in here kinda went to town on that commentator.
Don't be afraid to go into the romance thread, just proceed with some caution. 
@Jewlie I caught your message yesterday about being near the Village in NYC. I know exactly where that is. I live in Denver myself, which is a really open-minded city. The "lazy" comment was some jackass off the net.

i dont want to look rude, but this is ridiculous... Racist against fantasy race in a game?... we are talking about qunari...elves and dwarves(its not real).... this is not racist... this is gaming... i dont even want to go look in the romance thread... i guess people always need to argue about something... i understand their points.. but calling this racist... i think its an insult to people who really live with racism everyday...

It was bad last night, but things are much calmer now. The forums mood could be best described as "bi-polar" yesterday with a lot of ups and downs, and folks were feeling very testy. I was really hoping that another reveal or two was going to land while I was asleep, but I didn't expect it.
I do agree with Foe; I've suspected for awhile that Varric's romance wasn't revealed yet because it could reveal a bit more about the game than they are ready to. Seems like Vivienne is in the same boat. I soooo hope that my hunch is right and we'll know the rest of the LIs by the end of the month. Or sooner; I'll take sooner.
