I have to admit, I'd kind of like Cullen to be racegated just because it would be a ballsy move, but it would also make perfect sense. And if people want Cullen as a romance, sure, they can have him. Warts and all.
I would laugh. And then I would hate myself for it, because the Cullen fans already had to deal with him being female only.

Considering what he said about Qunari and Dwarves, I would understand him being race gated. But I'd feel sorry for the Cullen fans.

I have no pity for those that think it's wrong for Iron Bull to be bisexual. So tempted to put this up next time someone starts spewing that bile:
Iron Bull was going to be racegated until his animations were updated. So that leads me to suspect, then, that the 2 romances that are still racegated are so because of animation issues.
I know they said "story reasons," but with Iron Bull's "will hop into bed with anyone he’s reasonably sure he won’t break," I got the impression that Iron Bull was also going to be racegated for "story reasons." Until new animations happened.

I wouldn't laugh, but. I mean, the fandom was absolutely convinced Cullen was bisexual, even when he was a straight-only pseudomance in DAO, pretty much because they wanted him to be. If the writers feel like he's biased against other races, then they should write him as biased as other races. I'm not saying that because I want his fans to suffer or anything, but if that's part of his character, that's part of his character.

Even if he wasn't, I think it was clear that gender didn't matter to him by "jump into bed with anyone who he's sure won't break"

Well, I think the animation issues are just a lack of time at this point. If you make a bisexual character (with eight romance scenes) and bar them from one race (bringing them down to six romance scenes) then you've cut your workload down by a quarter. So I'm pretty sure you're right, but I don't think that'll affect what characters are gated.

Besides, a lot of bisexuals are really sick and tired of feeling this way, so I do empathize there. If I knew of a safe place to start the thread, I'd make a thread titled "What's the dumbest thing you've heard about bisexuality?"

*shrug* Maybe the others. The way I see it, BioWare has three obvious reasons to racegate. 1) Story. 2) Time/Money. 3) Dueling bodytypes. Thing is, I'm looking at Iron Bull and I'm looking at a female dwarf, and I'm thinking, if they could pull that off (with a lot of effort, but still) I can't think of any combination we have that they couldn't pull off. So I'm leaning toward 1 and 2 being the current reasons. I could be totally wrong, I'm no programmer, but that's how I feel about it right now.

Kinda off topic but am I the only one hoping to see Aveline again? I mean, I doubt we'll see her in DAI but I'd like at least a mention and her because she was awesome.
I really liked Aveline, so I'd like to see her again in a future Dragon Age, preferably Inquisition.
