I do that a bit too my first play through. BUT, only with characters that I really like. Other wise the first time around I don't try and make friends with everyone.

 

However, I usually end up liking all my companions after multiple playthroughs. I used to hate Fenris until I understood his character more and now I adore him. Haha

Theres only one companion in DA who is the exception of the rule.

Just like theres only one companion in Mass Effect thats an exception

Look at your own risk.

Yep, unfortunately Kaidan's death is scripted in ME1 for me. He never makes it off of Virmire.

I'm weird; I liked Kaidan in ME.  He grew on me.  I can't think of any of the ME characters I didn't end up liking. 

 

There's one exception in Origins for me.  I haven't run him off yet, and I do help with his personal quest.  It's only his appearance in the expansion that really ticked me off.

I agree with you on Oghren. I always buddy with him in Origins but in Awakening, I didn't like where they took him unless you became his friend and he only spoke about his baby and Felsi once our twice. I felt his progress got dumped

Same here, but only because I romanced Kaidan... and didn't want to cheat. The only person who could've made me cheat was Jack, but that wasn't happening so, *sigh*

 

I didn't hate him though, just found him a tad boring and safe. Not what I usually go for, but

Liara seemed clingy to me, even though she's adorable and sweet and smart and I love her as a character

So it was him, haha.

If Morrigan dies in Dragon Age Inquisition I will seriously bawl. I can't even think about it. Even if I'm not playing the Warden I can not dis-attach from my Morrigan love haha

I did once, just to check it out.  Once it was over, I did the fastest strike of the F9 key (quick save reload) I think I've ever done.

It's not that I don't like him, I just find him boring. And he pissed me of when he accused my Shepard of cheating on him with Garrus.

I understand why people don't like him, but I found him to be a pretty nice guy all around...I don't regret romancing him.
