So, I realize I love bioware so much that my family is aware of it.
My niece who is 13 now came over to see me and I was playing DA2, and just for the heck of it I had her try to name all the characters, she knew them all and knew I usually romance Isabela or Fenris haha. I even talked to her about my disappointment over Varric not being an LI haha

When it comes to Mass Effect, she knows the nicknames I gave certain characters and she knows who will never make it off of Virmire -coughKaidancough-

...I'm okay with all this.

I'm just here to randomly say that I'm going to be really sad when Varric isn't a romance option. 

 

Sigh, I love that guy. He's literally the most likable person in DA:2, for me at any rate. At least I can bring him everywhere in Inquisition. He literally will never leave my party.

Nobody in my family shares my love of Bioware games, sadly. I've even had some friends on facebook telling me I'm crazy for being excited about DA:I and bringing up how "bad" DA2 and ME3 were in defense... merh. That's why I'm glad I have this place, at least. xP

 

 

I'm just here to randomly say that I'm going to be really sad when Varric isn't a romance option.

Same here. That was pretty much my response to my friend. I said "hey, if you don't like 'em, cool. I'm faithful to the franchises I like, though, and I loved it because it was Dragon Age/Mass Effect." Of course I loved them for more than just that, but I've never really understood how they were so bad that they were unplayable. I can even admit their flaws (just like every other game, nothing is perfect), but in no way were they ever a game-breaker to me. People really over-exaggerate...

I can understand, haha. I try to be optimistic so I at least have that "it's still possible!" feeling while it lasts, even knowing it will just cause me to crash harder if it's not true in the end. xP

I could bear playing ME3 knowing how they made Jacob OOC.

 

But despite Varric not being romanceable in DA2, I enjoyed the game. He NEVER left my party, even when I played a rogue.

Everyone else was like tip toeing on egg shells trying to keep them happy. And I do try to keep everyone happy.

I try to keep everyone happy, too.   It's a tough job. Sometimes I wish I was more like the people who enjoy rivaling companions but I just wanna... I wanna sing kumbayah with them every night and roast marshmallows over a fire. c:

Making him a rival is HARD! You really have to be an aggressive, violent humourless butthole to get them rivalry points.

Yep, pretty much gotta play the whole game choosing the "aggressive" dialogue options. (I could never do that, myself. I choose it maybe 1 or 2 times most in my playthroughs).

The only person I've ever rivaled is Merrill (Excluding my for the lolz blood Mage character that everyone but Merrill hated) that being said the character didn't romance anyone both because they were selfish but also because I don't like the rival romance (aside from Merrill's who I have never completed but seen the videos)
