He did not deal with things well, I know how difficult it got in there with regards to toxicity...but it could have been dealt with much better. Allan seems very good at this.
The Varric thread used to go off-topic too but all in the name of fun as we didn't get much info once in a while, unfortunately, he would still shut the thread down.

From what I've read about him, he seemed like just the classiest guy for the BSN moderating community.

Here's what one of the things I found:-
I just think people going off topic and having fun is far far better than a nasty, twisted meltdown of epic proportions, clearly Allan realises this...we love you Allan.
