Still an awesome idea though.

This was discussed on the Dorian thread, but I think it can apply here too! I want to see the companions - especially Varric - react more to the Inquisitor. Like the scene in DA2 where the LI - or Aveline - comfort Hawke after Leandra's death. So yeah, I would love to see the Inquisitor having a particularly rough time and Varric - or whoever the LI is - comfort the Inquisitor. Or, even better, something like in Origins where we get to control just the companions on a quest to save the Inquisitor. With appropriate comfort scenes afterwards, if you know what I mean.
EDIT: I suppose it's not really an arc, rather one part of the romance I want to see.
This is the kind of stuff I would trade any sexytime cutscenes in for, I loved it! But I've heard they aren't doing the "rescue scene" anymore because people complained about not liking how they couldn't control their own character. :c I personally had fun with it.

Oh me too. The banter in MotA was awesome. Bethany does say the greatest thing about Seb if you take her along and are in a romance with him:
"Oh sister. You lucky b*tch."

I really enjoy when the PC is vulnerable, whether it be physically or emotionally. It adds a new dimension to their character, and a possibility to make the relationships with the companions go two ways. Comforting them all the time and not even getting a "Hey, how are you doing?" feels a little one-sided, not to mention a waste of roleplaying potential.
On that note... I'm really looking forward to interacting with Varric because the concept I have for my first Inquisitor is that of a Disney* Prince of sorts who feels completely out of place in the real world. Of all companions, I think Varric, the Storyteller, is the most relevant to that theme, including what he and his arc have to say about romance and "True Love".

If anything, I actually hope she's a likeable person. It would just...I don't know, feel wrong to be forced into hating her. I don't want her getting hit with a full swing of the Villain Bat.
This! I would prefer it if she really is nice, and that she and Varric get some closure and split amicably. We almost never have a romance option where the LI has an ex that you encounter and it doesn't end in harsh words or violence.

LOL... I seriously never took Seb with me anywhere (and never romanced him, if that's not obvious enough from what i've said about how I feel about him), but that's hilarious.

I agree! I like to be reminded that my character isn't a perfect, immortal person with no feelings. I felt like that in Origins while romancing Alistair. He would always complain about Duncan and I'd comfort him, but my PC just went through a really shitty time and never really expressed her feelings about it... like, ever. That, along with the silent protagonist thing really made the character I was playing feel like a robot to me at times.
edit: omg, I can't believe I typed Anders instead of Alistair.I haven't had enough caffeine today, apparently. xD

I wouldn't do that to Bianca, but if you were talking about someone that tried to kill me, different story. It's gets the hose again type stuff? Nah. Too boring for me. Most wouldn't really break that way, actually. Plus, it's just dull.
Now, if you want to set up a reward or punishment system, with things such as periods of total isolation, unexpected electrical shocks, and random kindness, that's how you really break someone. I could get darker than this (years of horror novels at work,) but I'll just stop here for now.

The key is to get them to break to their will utterly. I could get darker than this (years of horror novels at work,) but I'll just stop here for now.

I prefer my elaborate plan where he's abducted by aliens and dropped somewhere in the Australian desert a few months later.
Problem is, I'm short on aliens.

Wait, what? How do people not like the rescue scene?! But it was perfect! Especially since I almost always had Zevran and my Mabari go in. Them two smooth motherf***ers were perfect!
But... I want scenes that show an actual connection between the two characters, and feelings and concern that goes both ways! Plus, it lets us see more than just "bada**" Inquisitor. Everyone's a little vulnerable at least once in a while. I hope they at least do SOMETHING, even if they won't give us a straight up rescue scene.

Yep... I have no actual source for it, but have seen on more than one occasion people saying it, so I'm pretty sure it's true.
The emotional tending has always been a bit one sided and it's unfortunate, but with what they've been saying about the Inquisitor being their most emotionally responsive main character yet, I have hope!

Haha! There's nothing wrong with that. I was raised on horror stuff by horror-nerd parents, so I could watch just about anything as a kid and not get nightmares, but I understand ya. I have a good friend who is the same way.
She was always scared pretty easily when we were younger and our friendship blossomed through a series of me picking on her and teasing her in affectionate ways because of it. I swear I wasn't a bully, it's how i show love

Hansel and Gretel had the same effect on me. Disney movies though? My oldest memories are of spending all day watching them as a 4-5 year old kid. I feel inclined to believe they're responsible for my passion for stories, fantasy, and fairy tales.
ETA: And cheesy love stories. Some of them, anyway.

The villains are the best! Though, it's insane how much Disney have been able to get away with. Just look at Frollo from The Hunchback of Notre Dame, creepy!

I would be remiss in the Disney conversation f I didn't add one of my favorite villianess songs. I'm really dating myself here, but I saw this in the theatre the first time it came out when I was 10.
