I think that's for consistency more then anything, he wasn't interested in a male Warden. So I don't see why anyone would expect him to be bi in this game. Then again they backtracked on Kaidan being straight. So it's not like they haven't done it before.

Well stranger things have happened than having a straight LI race gated. At least he's still an LI if he is, even if you have to roll an elf or human for him. It's just like it wouldn't bother me if Varric is only for dwarves, I'll roll a dwarf to have him, I just want him as an option! lol
Nope, wouldn't bother me either, I'll take Varric any way I can get him thanks very much! Even though I always planned on romancing him with a Lady Cadash anyway...that's beside the point.
DG has said he doesn't have a problem if someone has to roll a certain gender/race to be able to romance the companion of their choice, so I'm not sure why people are so convinced that double gating won't happen...

That is true, like I said in the other thread,Varric does not strike me as someone who is gay though he is what you would call a bon vivant I guess.
And you don't have to look further than Backtracking sexuality than with Anders. Unless he was insecure about his own sexual inclinations to make a lot of jokes regarding females in Dragon Age: Awakening.

I'm not to optimistic that they'll announce anything at Comic Con, seems like they're really focusing on the ME4 panel. But who knows ?
Well, I figure while the ME team is talking about the next game, they could announce the LIs on the forums. I guess not at the con itself, but during that weekend. Keep the DA fans occupied while the ME fans are getting their fix. I don't entirely envy BioWare on this one. I know there is some decent reasons and all, but Mass Effect fans are the most bitter group on the forums. You think it's cynical in here? The Story section for the ME games is even worse.
Oh and I finally found a happy dancing gif if Varric is announced. I love The Dude, so it fits.

Yeah, I knew those guys were angry, but wow. I told my husband that if I'm ever that angry about a video game series having a rotten ending over 2 years after the fact, he's got my full permission to put me in a loony bin until I calm down. I've never stayed that mad at a video game for that long after the series ended.

Morning hun. Nat's current theory: While the ME team is busy with their thing at Comic Con on the 24th, I think they'll release the last information about the LIs at that point. Not so much announce it at the con, but at close to the same time. Of course, I could be wrong and we'll find out this weekend.
This is just a theory of mine. I don't know sh*t about sh*t about marketing, so I'm shooting in the dark here. The weekend before the con would make sense as a marketing tactic as well. Release the last of the LI info right before Comic Con. This will help soothe frustrations from the Dragon Age fanbase, plenty of whom will be at CC. This will also cause some buzz, especially if the only returning party member is a love interest. 
This would also make things a little easier at CC; they may want to talk about ME, but they are still likely going to be hammered with DA questions, the biggest of which currently is the LI info. If they release the information beforehand, they can just go, "It's on the official DA site, and we'll be discussing it further close to release."
So, here's to hoping for news sooner than later.
Yeah, I was taking a look at the 'Are you psyched about ME4 ?" Thread. Most of the replies are. "Nope I'm never buying another Bioware game again and if Bioware wants me to buy there next game they should re-do ME3" Are you kidding me guys ?
