I actually haven't played a lot of video games, so DA2 was the first time I'd heard him in anything. One line ("Your men are dead") and I almost fell off my chair.
And to bring this back on subject, this was also the game that had Brian Bloom, of course. That was... quite a memorable first game.

If we're going on appearance, Varric's an LI. You take a guy who already has a huge fanbase, give him a subtle redesign that makes him like THAT, add him to the next game and then don't let the fans have a chance at him? Say what you will about Gaider, the guy's not evil.

Me too! My brother was watching with me at the time and was SO annoyed. I can't help it, the chest-hair...it calls to me. Probably didn't help that when I saw Varric, I started flailing my arms and accidentally hit him in the face though.

So rumour has it that Cullen might sing to a romanced Inquisitor, if Varric is a romance what would his grand gesture be?
A book written about the Inquisitor's tale? Taking the the inquisitor to place that meant a lot to him? Showing the inquisitor how to shoot Bianca? Ahhh just thinking about it makes me smile.

I wonder if you can screw up the ball, OOOR... the Inquisitor sees Varric across the room, they're eyes lock, he begins to walk towards her/him, buta fight breaks out before he reaches you as a fade rift opens in the middle of the ballroom!. then, at the end of the game, you're all tired and leliana starts playing her loot and Varric says, "Inquisitor, I've been meaning to ask you, would you like to dance?" And you're like, "I thought you'd never ask"

Eh, I like it because I'm sometimes a horrible, mean person that likes to see her favorite characters sad because I like to think that things get better. Much like SecilyL's post. Actually, I think I like her version better than what I had in my head.
