Hahaha, that's too mean Chesty, he's a really nice person, hence why he's my friend. I suppose he at least enjoyed the series, story wise, even if all his complaints about DA2 are the exact same as everyone elses, so what you'd expect really....except the Varric thing...
Oh, alright Ajna, we won't stone him then. Haha, at least he enjoyed the game and who knows, maybe he'll change his mind once he sees how cool Varric is in DA3! ..........So, uh, what should I do with the rest of these stones though?

We'll definitely need them for the haters if Varric gets announced. Which no doubt there will be....whether because they think "he should be with Bianca instead" or "but he's my best friend!".....never understood either of those arguments against him being an LI. Bianca's been gone for years and it's not healthy for him to be pining for so long. And if you'd rather he stays your friend, just don't romance him! But don't take it away from those of us who'd like him to be something more....

What, you don't think the friend thing makes sense? I remember when I had a best friend in high school, I immediately said, "Welp, I have a strong platonic bond with someone. Guess I'll just be celibate for the rest of my life."

^ LOL,exactly. The whole thing is just ridiculous...As many in this thread have mentioned before, marrying/dating your best friend often makes for a great relationship. Hence, why Varric would make a wonderful LI imo.
EDIT: Pssst! I'm out of LIKES Foelhe, so just pretend I liked your comment.

Bahahahahaha! I mean, of course, I have so many platonic friends I can't possibly have a relationship...what a horrific thought.

Varric has had to schmooze way too much to not know how to dance. He probably learned "just in case."
As for romantic moments... I wouldn't mind him saving you from a stuffy noble or only "dancing" so you two can talk shop about the suspicious guy in the corner, until he dips you and winks and then you're lost in his eyes(/chesthair). It'll be early-ish in the game I suspect, so the romance will just be blossoming.
That's one aspect I hope they play around with more in this game. I love a good build up and I'd like to see an "almost" moment again. Just to add a bit of romantic tension. The first Mass Effect did it once , remember that near-kiss on the grounded Normandy? The one Joker interrupts? I thought that was great and I'd like to see a return of that.
For example, it could happen at the Ball. The Inquisitor and their love interest are supposed to be concentrating on the mission but get swept up in the moment. I was reminded of that scene "So close" from the movie Enchanted
While dancing they start to lean in and the frustrated player is like
but then mayhem breaks out and any romance will have to wait
Good morning guys and gals! I feel much better after a real night's rest.
Varric related: Cameron, you just loooooove teasing us, don't you. I find it funny that he hasn't tweeted a peep about Varric and Bianca yet. Maybe he got our polite request to stop constantly talking about "Varric's love for Bianca" in nearly every interview he's done about DA:I.
Not Varric related: I think a writer goofed a little:
User
according to DA:Legends, it's possible for kids to be born tranquil. is that canon??
*shudders* That is some full-on The Omen crap right there.
Someone tried to give me grief for tweeting her with the link. I let them know that I don't expect a writer to know about every little scrap of lore in something like DA Legends and that she might not know about that character. She'll either answer it or just ignore me.
Also, we were talking about classy fun? How about two very hot guys on cellos doing an awesome version of Thunderstruck in front of a crowd that looks like something out of the late 1700s?

To be fair, when you have a group of authors working in multiple mediums to define one canon, I imagine things get a little wonky. Anyone know how BioWare handles canon disputes? Gaider's the head writer, that's gotta count for something, but I have no doubt there's occasional bouts of weirdness there.
