Regardless, Bianca is such a cool weapon! Because of that, I'll prefer him using Bianca.

I liked using the hotkey to switch weapons back in DAO.

 

It gives a bit of a variety in battle

I'm just curious to see how he'd look duel wielding, animation wise I mean. I'm so used to seeing him with Bianca I can't really imagine him using anything else. So I gotta see it. I just have to know. 

Has it been confirmed that we can give Varric a different weapon ? I figure they'd make Bianca his only weapon like in DA2.

You can give him daggers, but he won't use another bow.  And you can't sell/destroy or equip Bianca for yourself.

It's been confirmed that he cannot unequip Bianca but he can switch to daggers.

 

Which makes more sense when he discusses daggers with Izzy.

I'm pretty sure it has. They've stated we can switch our party members weapons again like we could in Origins so I'm assuming that applies to Varric as well.I believe Varric is the only person who can equip and use Bianca though.

Umm let's talk about something Varric related then.

So we'll be able to change our companions weapons in Inquisition right? Anyone else looking forward to seeing a duel wielding Varric?

I'm still debating this, honestly. On the one hand, it'll be cool to see varric being all quick and stabby (that's what she said?) but it'll be hard to take away his crossbow... I'll need to see the story reasons first play through, then go from there...

But if he names a dagger after my inquisitor I'm set for the whole game.

I like that too. I hope that will return.

 

In Origins I always had my rogues equipped with both ranged and melee weapons. So even though I built Leliana as an archer she had daggers to use as backup, in case the enemy got too close. I'll probably do the same with Varric. I like him as an archer but I'll keep daggers equipped on him for emergencies.

So, since it seems possible to get your companions killed during a mission, what are you folks gonna do if you accidentally get Varric killed ?

OMG him naming daggers (First & Last) after you would be a Crowning Moment of Heartwarming.

Well, it wouldn't be the first time this company has made me tear up because of a touching and well done story.

If theirs a Varric romance, their is no way to avoid touching on the subject of Bianca. So I think it's almost a certainty that we'll learn something about her.

 

Also the Bianca scene in Until We Sleep was really well done in my opinion.

No doubt.  My main motivation is to see if the player will finally learn the real truth.  Plus, it would be just nice to see a female dwarf again, and hopefully not as a "she's a villain now so the player can romance Varric."

 

Annnnnd the romance thread is getting really heated up again.  I think I'll just hang out with you guys and watch Cold Case, where it's safe.

I definitely agree. Until i read the comic, I felt like the Bianca story would be.... less interesting? After I read that, though, I was genuinely interested in knowing more about what happened, and speculated wildy. (you know me!)

I've been posting in it occasionally, I just don't understand people arguing to limit other peoples options. It's inevitable that someone won't get what they want. But why are we hoping for that ?
