Reuniting Varric with Bianca only to find that in the ten plus years they've been apart she's moved on and fallen in love with someone else and started a family and a new life, and Varric realizing he needs to do the same, is exactly the kind of story I could see Bioware telling.

I'm glad it's not just me that thought it came out a little pat to be a made up number, though like I said I wanted 2/4/2 because everyone having three options sounds awesome, but the way they said about making sure everyone has two options makes it sound like "my work here is done" on the equality part... Who knows.
I dunno, that pause made it feel like "I'm gonna take a moment to pull a random number out of my ass". So I'm doubtful that those numbers are necessarily accurate.

We're currently waaaaaaay down Foel... I'm considering walking away because I can't deal but who knows what that may be tomorrow or later today, even, right now I wanna cry and break things at the same time, this is the worst I've felt yet and I'm super annoyed at myself because of it.

Particularly when it's about emotion, which can change. I think it's pretty obvious that Varric wasn't an LI in DA2 partly because he still had feelings for Bianca, but that was a long time ago, and it's one of the reasons we've all been hoping he gets some closure.

That tweet was from over a year ago. Did we even know Varric was a companion character at that point? Anyway, considering how they've been playing their cards close to the vest, I don't think Gaider would answer that question in a casual tweet if it was about romances that haven't been revealed yet.
At the end of the day, I'm angry for the same reason that Jewlie is. If we get a no at the end of all this I'll feel as bitter as hell for being strung along for so long, it's not funny and cute anymore, it's just cruel. I did not want to feel like this
