I'll probably spend at least an hour zoomed in on Varric, watching his chest hair move.

--Cameron Lee stressing that Varric loves Bianca too much to let her go sounds like a red herring. We know we can switch out his weapon, but we can't get rid of Bianca nor equip it for ourselves. "Letting Bianca go" in this case could be referring to his crossbow.
I wonder if Bianca (the weapon) will be good enough quality to make it to end game without having to switch it. It would feel weird to me to have Varric use another weapon.
Didn't realize in order to be a Varric fan we had to be 100% supportive of the "Varric as a LI" thing.

Well you can't switch it out for another bow, so I assume it will scale like in DA2. Therefor being the most OP bow in the game.

Oh, I thought I had just read that you could switch it out but couldn't equip it or get rid of it. This made me think it might not scale this time.
Then again maybe they won't scale it so you have to do his companion quest so he can use new bows.

You can't use new bows, but you can give him daggers. Not quiet the same since I assume his skills will be based around bows again.
I hope it scales. xD Bianca was such an awesome weapon in DA2, anything else would have felt lame for him. But perhaps they'll have new crossbows/bows for him if so.

I prefer daggers myself as a rogue, so I like to keep him as an archer. Now I really hope Bianca levels.

Again, I only brought it up because Ceoldoren asked me to expand on why I had hesitations on Varric being an LI. It's not like I came in here for that purpose, so I'd appreciate it if accusing me of such would stop.

You are able to upgrade stats on weapons in DAI.
