Is Solas supposed to be shy ? I thought he was the intellectual snarky type.

 

Introverted, which doesn't always have to mean shy... just more solitary  But probably not the most experienced with socialization

Same! I expected straight Cassandra and Cullen . Then it happened and I'm like "but why?"

They're afraid straight dudes would complain since unless they announce that they like the same-sex, they're automatically straight.

I think besides Carver/Merrill and Ash/Vega I haven't been a fan of the companion hook ups so far. Didn't like Tali and Garrus and I was meh about about Fenris and Izzy. I hope I actually root for a companion pairing this time.

I read somewhere that it could be they made Cass straight to give her character some 'femininity'... I think it was in the romance stereotype thread. :c I really hope that isn't the case.

I know that feeling! But I'll still end up romancing him. (Unless, after my first playthough romancing either Varric or Dorian, I decide I'm not a fan of his personality; it'll just depend on if he's more early DA:O than DA2, or somewhere in between. 

 

I may prefer to play as a male, but I've been having to play as female to romance the character I like for a long time. (Carth, Atton, Garrus...)

I never have to deal with it because I usually romance one of them. But I didn't like it either

I always just assumed that had more to do with whatever Fenris and Isabella had was more just for fun, and not at all serious. 

 

...But then again, I've only seen the two of them get together once, since that's the only time I've managed to not romance Fenris.

Just had a guy ran out on me after a bad night yesterday, so this hits home so hard. lol. I don't think Fenris would be the type to hide his opinion, it seems like with a bad sex, it would be more Anders.

I, for one, think that would be adorable.  XD

 

Does anyone else think that companions we can't romance (besides Leliana and Cole), might form relationships with some of the companions we can?  Don't see why romanceables only should be hooking up.

@Autumn Crowe: I hate quoting devs when I can't remember where the quote came from, but, I seem to remember someone saying that a lot of Blackwall and Solas's banter is the two of them being the old men of the party and chatting about what "the kids" are up to. If I'm remembering that right - big if - I'm not sure they'd romance anyone else in the party.

Oooh I wonder if Varric will have a hand in pairing them, he and Izzy seemed to have a fun time of it in DA2, maybe he'll drag Sera into the tradition . The real question though, is who would Varric ship .
