Yeah, that's what I'm thinking as well. I was a little depressed about all of this equality talk because I have a feeling Varric might be canonically straight. So I thought that decreased his chances...but now my hopes of him being an LI just increased, yiiissssss!

I have a feeling that he'll likely be straight, DA2 does kinda hint at it (though never too blatantly) and all other characters who have been hinted to be straight in previous games (Cass and Cullen) have been confirmed as such for this game. That said, a bisexual Varricmance would be very interesting, if only because based on how Anders broached the subject to male!Hawke, the dudebro no ****** mentality is still relatively prevalent in certain parts of Thedas. I can therefore see Varric, who prefer not to rock too many boats, hiding that part of himself (if one exists) to avoid awkward situations, and perhaps being a little more hesitant about pursuing a romance with another guy because of it. I definitely can't see him initiating the romance, that's for sure.
