Hmmm setting up that blackmarket smut exchange is looking more and more appealing.

Do it. It's great.

No no, you're saying it wrong.

I really need to give Merrill's romance a Shot...
It's actually the most tender out of the romances. I was surprised at how sweet it was.

I did like Merrill's romance.
But I like Aveline more.
My "canon" is an Alistair romance in DA:O and a Fenris romance in DA2.
In DA:I Varric, Josephine, and Cassandra are appealing to me.

Ah screw it... I'm posting these because I've been listening to them non stop and have the inexplicable need to share them.
They're sorta relevant... I mean they're covers of a song from a movie with hot dwarves... and this is a thread about a hot dwarf
.

That's the only romance I haven't done at least partly
Anders Romance is stuck in the abyss that is act 3maybe my last playthrough before the game comes out I'll do a Merrill romance .
This is going to sound utterly bizarre, even for me
, but I couldn't romance Merrill as a female character. I kept trying, yet she just kept slipping into the "Kid sister" zone no matter how hard I tried. I decided to roll up my first male Hawke, with some help from my husband to make sure he looked good. I also decided to do a snarky/diplo caster, blood mage, which was another first for me (I do have screenshots floating around.) To my surprise and puzzlement, I was able to start romancing Merrill without that hangup, and I really enjoyed it too. I figure us blood mages have to stick together.
Eventually, I'll figure out why that was. Still doing a little soul-searching on that one.

I wish Aveline had been a romance. I'd definitely trade Isabela or Merrill for her.
NEVER. >:I
I really need to give Merrill's romance a Shot...
Merrill is love, Merrill is life.

For some reason i have trouble seeing Merrill as bisexual. (Even though she clearly clearly is.)
But i also just have a problem doing lesbian romances anyway. Makes me feel like a scumbag.

Funny, I'm the exact opposite, I can only romance her as a female character... but I've got some suspicions as to why that is.

I know that feel, bro. Every Time I try playing a homosexual Character, it makes me feel really uncomfortable, feel ashamed and settle for a heterosexual Romance...

I think I might have to do the same because her personality reminds me a lot of my 17 year old lil sister sooo... Yeah as a female Hawke I've faced the same issue haha. This is going to sound utterly bizarre, even for me

I'd swap Isabela and Aveline first, rather than Merrill. It would be kind of awesome to have a female companion who was outwardly sexual in that way, but also just not into the player character.

Are you homosexual or heterosexual? Why does it make you feel uncomfortable?

Yeah, its kind of complicated.
The problem with the lesbian romance is that it just makes me feel like a guy who's only in it for the "hot girl on girl action!"

Heterosexual Male (that typical WASP, basically, except I'm german and too young to really count) and No Idea. My best Friend is gay, I have no Problem with him.
Sometimes, though, I suspect it is because I don't feel I can authentically roleplay a homosexual Character.

There are people who are uncomfortable playing heterosexual romances, too. Or playing as a man, or playing as a woman. It's not really indicative of any actual bias against the orientation or gender.

Ah I see what you mean. Anytime I do gay male it makes me feel a little like a squeeing slash fangirl (which admittedly I am, but I don't like feeling as though someone's canonically pandering to my tastes).
I've got no problem with lesbian romances, after my grandfather died when I was 5 my entire family was made up entirely of lesbians and single women, to me girl on girl is the default in a weird sort of way.

Sorry to interject here, but I wanted to mention I've made a vow: I'm not going to ask the developers about anything at this point. I know that they are really patient with us, but they should get a break. I'm sure that many of them want us to know as much as we do about what's to come. Well, except DG, but I can understand where he's largely coming from here. It's easy for me as a consumer to demand, "MOAR INFO NOW!" but it's gotta be frustrating if you'd rather let the player just experience the game first.
On topic: I've never done a m/m romance, nor has that type of slashfic ever been something I've been into. Now Dorian has shown up, and he's got the combo I want:
Swarthy, dark complexion with blue eyes, a good hearted man in the middle of a country that largely suppressed such emotions, trying to discover who he is outside of Tevinter. That's just...wow. When I had thought about a m/m romance in the past, I kept hoping for someone like that. I love having "bad guys" turned on it's head; like with my tiefling D&D character. Most of them align towards Chaotic Neutral/Chaotic Evil, but I choose to play a good guy instead.
If Varric is bisexual, I doubt I could romance him as a guy. I'm not sure why, but it wouldn't fit for my style of RP as a guy. I'm all for the idea though. Varric goodness for everyone! The chest hair must flow.
