Yeah I get the feeling they'll be making some big happy exciting announcement soon to soften the blow a bit. Saying "Delayed an Extra Month" and then leaving us in a dry wasteland of news for a couple weeks doesn't sound like the best way to promote the game. You want to drop some exciting news while the more fans are sitting up and alert... maintain the hype and all.

Cheers or something Someone on the twitter thread pointed out that no matter what they announce about romance, someone's not going to be happy But romances are also easy quick simple things to announce... and it does tend to drive away buzz from any other bad news.

@The lovely folks that have stopped by: Thank you so much for the warm wishes.  We really do appreciate it.

 

Hey, I caught up on the romance thread, and it was pretty rough.  I tossed out some likes to my fellow Varric fans, and I know that was crappy.  Hell, I'm still surprised at some of the comments I saw in there, and not just towards us.  I damn near <facedesk> when I saw that gif that ran DG out of the thread.  Shame too, because I wanted to talk to him.  Way to go, BSN. 

 

Anyhow, I know that a few of the posters responding to us have not only been very bitter, but I know that one of them thinks that "Varric will never get over Bianca."  I also noticed that he was one of the ones that tried to tell us not to celebrate too loud.  I was thinking, "Da faq? I've been watching your posts and you haven't said that to anyone else."

 

To that I say, walk it off.  We might get more hate before things mellow out.  We might have folks coming into the thread to give us a hard time for "taking away X group's options" if Varric is straight.  Not much we can do, but it's just been the tension of this whole thing.  I already know that we are largely going to stick to our own thread to celebrate, and I also know none of us mind offering condolences to those that didn't get their LI.

 

That's why I just stopped worrying and I'm just hanging out with you guys.  The Romance thread is going worse and when the last LIs are announced (and I have a sinking feeling that Varric will be straight,) it's going to be a royal mess in there.  I've hit the point where I don't usually post in there unless I have something to say.  I keep my head low and frankly, I stopped posting my love for Varric in that thread quite some time ago.  

 

 I know we all get at least two options (more if you're bi/pan,) and anything else is gravy at this point.  Take a lesson from our brothers and sisters in the Cullen thread: Point and laugh at the haters, stick together, and have fun.

 

I'll go over that tumblr meme list in a few, but I still need to finish my first cup of coffee.  

 

@To all the newcomers: Welcome!  We're an odd bunch, but we like to have fun and look out for each other.  While most of us are Varricmancers, it's because we love our best bud.  We figure even if he's not a LI, we still got out best friend back.  You're free to stay anytime you need a safe haven.
