What makes you think Varric knows how to cook? He rooms at the Hanged Man. That's roughly the same as living out of a McDonalds dumpster. :P

(You know, I just realized how sort of fucked up it is for the son of an alcoholic to live in a tavern.)

I always kind of thought Varric would be the guy who knew food really well, he just didn't know how to cook it. Considering he's the son of a wealthy family it's very possible he's had servants do the cooking for most of his life.

They totally should have threw in some kind of good news with that announcement.  Anything....  And yeah, I don't have any enthusiasm about the romances at the moment, but I wish they would announce them so we can all make peace with the Maker about it.

I want to know more about Necromancy and how it'll work in the game.  That's the only thing I can come up with that I'm interested in the moment, but I am basically a zombie right now.

So, you want to learn more about Necromancy...and you feel like a zombie.

Seriously, I'm with you.  I'd like to know how the archery spec is going to work.  They really gimped us last game.  I should not have had to steal Seb's tree just to get a decent archery spec.  Other than quests and a dumping ground for rings/bows that are a little too nice to sell, his best use for me is his archery tree that I use the console cheats to get.

Pro-tip for PC users: Do not try to get Varric's tree.  The power of the chest hair is so great, it will bug out your game and you'd have to reload.

I always pictured my Cadash as the kind that would burn toast even in a modern toaster, or fail at making tea.  He has to be better than her.   ;)

You're getting evil over here.  You sure you ain't part tiefling?   :P

I honestly really haven't given much thought to who my Cadash will be as a person, most likely a tough lady trying to be as diplomatic as possible, per the norm of all my bioware leading ladies. At least for my first play through. And because Bioware tends to offer a backstory of sorts to their protagonists, I also like to see what that is and figure them out as a person from there. But this poses an interesting thought now in my head none the less. Hmmmmmmm.

By the way guys, I found this in the twitter thread.  I hope it makes you feel better.   :)

John Epler ‏@eplerjc 30s

A month of dev time pre-ship is basically equivalent to a year+ of post-ship time in terms of ability to polish.

John Epler ‏@eplerjc

We want to give you this game. But more importantly, we want to give you this game in the best state we can put it in.

John Epler ‏@eplerjc 1m

user)  Few reasons. More resources. And it's easier to fix things properly pre-ship, whereas with patches your options are limited.

John Epler ‏@eplerjc 53s

user  Believe me! I'd love to be done. But I'd rather put out the best damned game we can. So, sleep will wait.

Mary Kirby ‏@BioMaryKirby 49s

@eplerjc Speak for yourself, Jepler. *I* wanted to give them the game with the bug where Cole's pants run around independent of his body.

John Epler ‏@eplerjc 34s

@BioMaryKirby Okay, yes. That would be amazing.

My dream class has already been confirmed, and roughly described, but I still want to know how the Artificer will function compared to an Inquisitor who crafts a lot of bombs and traps.

I agree! I make rogues 90% of the time so I'm very interested in learning more about the artificer/tempest. I'll probably be using those much more than assassin, because I've burned out with how many assassins I've made pretty much, lol.

Yeah that's the thing about Food Fight. There are some really funny moments in it, mainly anytime Christopher Lloyd's character is on screen because of how surreal the animation is around him, but for the most part the movie is just kind of awkward and boring. That and it has that sort of nasty message to it.

I was hoping for a The Room/Birdemic/Trolls 2 thing.

The things you force yourself to watch in order to find something as magnificent as them... But when you find another, it's worth it!

I've always been too lazy to use traps.  Just give me something to shoot at, a lot and I'll be a happy rogue.  :P

I'm only really interested in Artificer for my Cadash and Rift Mage for my Qunari atm.  I'd love gadgets and gizmo's like the GW2 engineer, but yeah... blowing stuff up!

Watch, it'll be an inside joke that the companions make, or it'll happen in a DLC at some point.

My Bioware characters never end up how I planned them :P. The twists and turns of the story and gameplay always throw me off course.

My Dwarf Noble was supposed to be a silly prankster who didn't give a damn about politics, but ended up being a rather serious, gruff and sarcastic diplomat after the trauma during the origin.

My Hawke was going to be a snarky defiant, pro-mage rebel, and ended up being a very conflicted apostate just trying to do right by her family.

I plan for my Inquisitor to be a very cocky but absent minded professor type, like if Mordin and Wrex had a love child. I can't wait to see where the game actually takes her, but she's still been fun to plan.

I'd like to think the artificer is more technical as well. I saw those cool Attack on Titan cables the rogue used in a trailer, I wonder if that was an example of an artificer move?

Seeing as how I essentially planned my Cadash to be Tony Stark without even realizing it, THIS is exactly what I want it to be like.

That's what I love about the artificer too. I love crafting in video games, and planning attacks in new and interesting ways. I love the idea of being a medieval tinkerer, that kinda my fantasy wish fulfillment and I'm so happy to see that expressed in game.

You know, that sounds about right.

My Cousland was going to be an agnostic anti-authoritarian angry person.  Instead she was calm, patient and ended up devout after seeing the Ashes.

My rogue Hawke turned out close to how I pictured her.  Except for really hating and not caring about the mage/templar thing.  I held off on making a decision for as long as I could.  I thought she'd be pro-mage, but she turned out to be pro-"Get me the hell out of this town."

My Cadash has some bare bones of a story, but it's just too soon to tell.  I've got her name, her spec and her general "clever/snarky" attitude in my mind.

By the way guys, I found this in the twitter thread.  I hope it makes you feel better.   :)

The thing is, i have actually done QA for games before on several occasions.

I know what this crap means.

I have had games delayed by a month before for "just a little more polish".

In all my experience that means that the game is beyond broken at the moment that its hard-crashing at the title menu.

It doesnt bode well for the final release.

Please, no being negative in here.  I'd rather trust the devs at this point rather than get upset.   There is a few threads were we could lament this delay, but let's keep this place positive.   ;)

So you think they should release it in october without the extra month of polish they feel they need?

Or do you think they should delay it even further?

I think he's saying hang tight, because apparently there is going to be a further delay.  He's using his own experience to judge what is really going on here.

Can we please drop this in this thread?  There is at least 2 threads I just counted getting into this.  Some of the folks in here really need the positive vibes, so can we take the debate about the reasons why the game was delayed elsewhere?

Spoiler

Varric: Inquisitor I'm fine really

Inquisitor: Absolutely not, this river is far too deep for you, I won't have my best crossbowman swept away by the rapids.

Varric: It's a brook Inquisitor, it's barely moving, and it doesn't even come up to my waist.

Inquisitor: You underestimate the fickleness of nature, we could have a flash flood any moment now.

Varric: Sigh... you're not going to let this one go, are you?

Inquisitor: Absolutely not.

Varric: Fine, you can carry me across, but please, don't tell Bull.

:P And then of course they proceed to run into a fallen tree, a craggy valley, and a somewhat steep hillside. Varric's feet never touch the ground for more than a minute :P.
