Haha, that makes sense! And owch, my heart. :'c Is it because she doesn't have much hope he'll be an LI? Blackwall seems interesting but he'd probably be my last choice if I got to choose from the rest of the candidates, tbh. I'm not big on the beard (totally shallow of me), and we've already had 2 grey warden romances... one was adorable, one was... tragic... and I can only see his as tragic too, with his age.

I think it started off with her being discouraged by some of the dev "Varric loves Bianca" tweets, but I think she's genuinely fallen in love with Blackwall now. Some of my favorite comics by her are Blackwall centric. The relationship she portrays is truly heartwarming. Which of course makes the fact that he's near his death all the more tragic.

Agreed, and I'm sure we'll get enough tragedy from the game... we don't need to add extra in our romances.

Sounds good to me.   I plan for my LI to have their issues like everyone else, I just would prefer them not to die or be tempted to kill them myself, that's all I really ask for, Bioware! XD

Is that the one where he's about the throw her? I love that one . I do wish she would come by and visit, her artwork is currently taking up half the fanart post If she came by she'd certainly get lots of hugs and sqeeing, we're all rather big fans of hers here . But I guess it's like the Bioware devs, nobody visits the Varric thread .

I want lots of awkward kisses and awkward fumbling around the emotional part . Awkward, sweet romances are best romances

For me Blackwall has the least chance of being LI. It's his age and probably  character (he will be more like Wynn I think).

I'm sure he'll be an awesome character but I just... I can't.   He will be a great friend of mine, most likely, which will be heartbreaking enough for when the time comes.

Hahahaha, my sentiments exactly. I can't handle the heartbreak. Thane made me lose it, (anders made me lose it for different reason). Nope, I'll just cling to Varric and Sera no matter what!

Anywho...yay for Varric romance encouragement and yes-Blackwall would be a terrible love interest, but some people like sad stories.  So for their sake I try not to be too negative, but it is hard at times!  I have enough scars on my heart already, I don't need to shove it into harms way.
