I need to search for rival Varric videos. It seems like a very hard thing to accomplish.
You have to just be the worst person.

Well Iron Bull is still a part of the Qun and does tell you out flat that he'll be sending reports back to the Arishok so I could see Varric and him not getting along so well which makes me sad caue I was really hoping of a party of Varric, Blackwall and Iron Bull as my main take alongs.
Do we really know that?
I took it more as "he is initially mistrustful of qunari".
I mean really, is Iron Bull your typical qunari? Will he even continue to support the qun after being "free" for so long?
Their interactions will be very interesting indeed.
I don't think Varric will despise IB or anything like that, I just think he has some really horrible memories unfortunately connected to the Qunari. I'm hoping to perhaps see Iron Bull help him get over that by them potentially becoming friends down the road. ![]()
From Iron Bull's interview.
[DA]: You said “just about everyone.” Are there people that he doesn’t get along with?
[PW]: The only folks The Iron Bull has trouble with are those who go looking for fights about the Qunari. He isn’t trying to convert anybody, but he’s not going to apologize for his way of life, and people like Varric, who saw the Qunari at their worst in Kirkwall, might take that the wrong way.

That may be the case, but even in the descriptions for Iron Bill, they have described him as kind of having a crisis of belief. because even though he is technically still a part of the qun. He is very free of the shackles it imposes upon its practitioners.
Perhaps he is questioning whether or not he can go back at all?

If Aveline and Isabella can do it, anyone can.

We will see.
I have trouble seeing Varric as someone who assumes the worst of an entire race just because he has had some bad experiences.

Yeah. I thought maybe my planned psycho rogue would trigger his rivalry, but looking over his approval page it seems to need a lot of aggressive dialogue choices and my planned psycho would be sarcastic. My aggressive Hawke was a nice person.
About the Iron Bull thing, I think maybe they'll get over the initial problems. I think maybe Iron Bull will distance himself from the Qun even more if he gets really involved with the group.

Yeah Im not really sure that Iron Bull will end up sticking with the Qun depending on a lot of things. Especially a romance.
I mean, i just cant imagine someone like him would have an easy time re-integrating into Qun practices.
I tried to watch the pax prime vids, but all of them have terrible audio quality, unless there's one I can't find...so for the moment I'm going to stick with my opinion of we haven't heard her speak-at least not with enough clarity to amount to anything. if anyone has a link to a version of it that doesn't sound like it was recorded in a tunnel by a camera phone...that would also be awesome. -shrug-
Morning guys, have I missed anything while I've been sleeping? (doesn't look like it but I thought I'd check...)

Nothing news worthy sadly.
Ok, maybe today then *sigh*

I believe Comic-Con starts today, so its within the realm of possibility.
Possibly today, but I'd bank on it being tomorrow seeing as that's when the Dragon Age panel is.

Makes sense.
Hopefully its some good news. I think the fans could use it right about now.
I think it is sweet that he still loves her. Nothing stalkery about it.
We will see.

Probably because we are so used to seeing him so positive. But who knows, this could be a real negative side to him.

In that case, considering what he has seen from Mages and Templars, he has the potential to be quite insufferable.
That is not something i choose to accept.

I think it will be less racism and more being wary of anyone who follows the Qun. He didn't seem to really hate the Qunari in Those Who Speak. But he certainly doesn't like them.

He might be a lot more reasonable about it than everyone in DA2. Unless Bioware pulls another Anders. >___> I'm watching youuuu

True but those Qunari did have Isabela so he did have a good reason not to like them.

Ugh, lets not think about that. I still liked Anders in DA2, but it was more that I felt bad for him then anything. Then he blew up the chantry and I just stopped giving a damn. I can't help a man who could do something like that. Anyone I'm ranting, the point is I sure as hell hope they don't do something like that again.
While I'd likely make a playthrough for an IB romance, but I was a teeny bit disappointed we got a "bad boy" Qunari instead of a stoic Sten kind.
Oh Mark Hildreth, how I long for you and your love for baked goods.
Don't get me wrong, I love fictional bad boys, Zevran was one of them.
But wouldn't a stoic Qunari be fun? Just sayin'.
As for Bianca moving on and Varric/Bianca shippers freaking out, mind you the Bioware community is pretty weird with ships. Like when Alistair/Leliana (ONLY in Darkspawn Chronicles, therefore hardly canon), Fenris/Isabela or Garrus/Tali get together.
I mean, you can't really say someone is "cheating" when you're not or no longer in a relationship with them...
I'm not that worried that they'll write Varric as intransigent about mages, templars and even qunari. It's been said Iron Bull doesn't preach the Qun so I think they can find a middle ground at least.
I'm more worried that we'll learn he's done something terrible in his past, possibly related to why he and Bianca got separated. But maybe that's just because they did it with Isabela.

Personally, I really like that Fenris and Isabela hook up. It makes sticking to other romances a lot easier when I know they're not sad and lonely.
