Maker, I just want to know! At least if I know I can make peace and move on with my rebound choice!
Still, the announcement of eight LIs and one being a non companion/advisor, gives me hope, mainly because (sorry Viv fans!) it's unlikely Viv is an LI as I don't think all female companions would be LIs (something a little distasteful about that) and it's more likely Mary Kirby wrote one romance than two, and that one, if she did, could be Varric!

As Kath pointed out, two of the romances are race gated, so I think we've actually got a good chance with Varric.  I'll admit, I'm pretty bummed about Cassandra since she was one of my choices, but I'm still holding out hope for our boy here.

I'm a huge fan of Josephine, but no, she wasn't someone I wanted to romance.  I'm really happy for those that do.  I'm particularly bummed about Cassandra, but I am happy for the straight men.  Well, the ones that aren't going to go, "Ewww, you gave me the man-chick."  I noticed that Cullen is straight too, but I'm not too surprised by that.  A little disappointed in BioWare (it's a little hard to explain,) but not upset or surprised.

You roll up a hot lady dwarf for Varric.  Just don't die from happiness until after the game comes out.

You know, i actually think Varric has a shot at being a romance option if you do the math. We currently have an even split of 2 straight options and 2 gay options. We know of 1 female bisexual option, so its stands there will probably be another bisexual that is male. Possibly Iron Bull.

 

That leaves 2 slots open. One of which is not an adviser or companion. (Dagna maybe? I hope so.)

 

I dont think they will have more gay options then straight options, and we know Varric isn't gay.

 

....And... then i has something written down about 2 confirmed race gated people "related to story" and something about how Varric and Dagna are the only ones i can imagine being gated... Maybe only for qunari? Maybe not... Varric has some problems with Qunari anyway. And i could see Dagna having problems with the people that restrict magical knowledge.

 

See? Math...or...something... uh... Ta daaaahhh...

 

Anyway, he likely has some form of race-gatng though. Hopefully not dwarf only, but there you go.

I think there is a decent shot, but i wouldnt get too excited too soon.

 

They made a point of saying "for story reasons" and that could mean a lot. Maybe Solas doesnt like anyone but Elves or something similar.
