What I don't like about Gaider is that he always comes over in the sense of "Oh geeze, why do they always try to make us look like villians when we're doing our ~best~?" It's not completely unexpected for people to point out that we've had no Dwarf romances and thus the fans feel left behind in that department. Valid criticism shouldn't be treated the same as straight up rants.

 

I'm sorry, I'm being all super negative over someone who most likely doesn't control the character and this is pretty good for the optimism list. So yay hopefully Varric!

He's not saying that Varric is not a LI. Hmm, it sounds not bad. He releases that there is a lot of people wanting this. I actually think it good sign. He obviously can't confirm anything yet...

I really just wish they would say no already on the off chance it's a no. We aren't like the Blackwall, Solas, or Vivienne fans- many of us have wanted this since DA2 lol! As loyal fans, I think we at least deserve to know if we should have our hopes up.

I'm very optimistic about Varric, but if they are just dragging us along at this point it certainly would hurt :/ maybe I'm acting too entitled here...

 If they not going to reveal LI's soon I suspect that all forum will be tense.

I will be happy to have Varric in my team even if he's not a LI. But I'll be sad for a while. They will waste such potential if Varric is not a Li though...

There's a chance, but I'd say tomorrow is more likely with it being the day of the panel and all.

Ah okay. For me that scene is intriguing. When I read it I thought it meant she died but maybe it ended badly? Because otherwise why would they still be apart? Any thoughts?

I agree, the scene was very intriguing. I think mostly because Varric pretty much immediately knows it is fake and walks out. I wonder f it is because dwarves don't dream, so when the fade creates an idealized version of Bianca, it's one he has never "seen" before, so he recognizes it as false. That or it isn't anything like her or she is dead, etc. He has had 11+ years to think about them not being together.... Anyway, that was what interested me about the dream...

Tommorow will be fine too. They could say something like "we'll announce rest of LI's tommorow". Just imagine what would happen on forums.

Man those Solas people were on this quick. If you look though, Varric is the second most anticipated non-confirmed character behind Solas...

Does anyone have much info on that elf? All I know is that he's a loner mage

It was a great scene.  More questions than answers though.  I also couldn't tell if he knew it was fake because, since Dwarves don't dream, they are able to see through illusion easier, or if he saw through it because the truth of those events was so traumatizing it is burned into his consciousness.

 

My personal belief about Bianca:

I think it was a genuine depiction of Bianca as a person, both looks and personality.  I think Varric reacted to the series of events that were presented.  He knew that in reality, the Carta had gotten to her before they could make their escape.  I believe he was presented with the events as they would have happened had she gotten to him first.  I imagine the cruelty of the fade is being as honest as possible, so as to allow for believability.  Why this didn't work on Varric is speculated above.

 

Ultimately I think Bianca's fate was to die at the hands of the Carta.

Apparently I can like anything else on the thread today but I really like that idea. The Fade is a cruel place as we've seen in both in DAO and DA2, spirits often promise you things that could never be...

I believe it would be sweet if they both still loved each other but we have no idea if Bianca is still in love, or even if she was ever actually in love (she could have been using him maybe?) And if they both loved each over, why arent they together? But I don't know her like that, none of us do. We only know Varric and I know he's not a creep.

We don't know why Bianca and he haven't reunited. Maybe she is like Maric and in a position she can't get out of.

Its all hypothetical at this point. Maybe it'll be cleared up in Inquisition

I agree. Can't really see Varric as the type who'll leave her to her own fate. I'm not saying she's dead, but I think the truth may be way more complicated.

A great case-in-point is Maevaris' "dream".  She outright admitted she knew it was all fake, but she was willing to stay because she wanted to believe in it.  The fade always seems to choose what will be most psychologically paralyzing for you.  Either your greatest desires realized or your worst fears.  Whatever it takes to keep you there.

True but I'm sure he'd keep trying regardless, I don't see him just throwing in the towel because he's run into a dead-end.
