I've seen several folks, including a few that have never come into the thread, mention that they hope for a Varric LI. I know he's a popular option, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

I've found that a good shot of coffee takes care of misconceptions like that.

Anyway, i hope, if he is in, he isnt too severely race gated. I have my doubts that my Qunari Inquisitor will be able to romance him though.

I love playing dwarves and he's honestly my last hope for a planned LI before release. If he isn't available, then I'll just hang tight until the game comes out and I get to know more of the cast. Probably do a tiny bit of sobbing beforehand, but I'll get by.

Yep, 8 romances, 2 race-gated. And we don't know yet, but we're hopeful! Many others and I suspect the race-gated choices to be Varric and Iron Bull.
Just a lot of hope going around is all with some vague news about it.

Okay, so I've seen folks predict that Iron Bull will not be race gated (despite the reasons stated for gating and that it'll allow for more romances,) that Vivienne will be, that Varric is off the table and they want Celine as the mysterious romance that's the non adviser/non companion LI. It makes for a sad tiefling. 
Am I the only non-hetero female that takes one look at the Empresses life and surroundings and go, "Nope, not getting near that hotbed of politics, don't care how awesome she is"?

I just... having the empress as an LI is whole lot noble woman. Viv, Cass, Josphine... it'd be nice to have another female LI from a different backgrounds, especially since the potential male LI's are so varied.
