Man, I hope so. That sounds awesome.

I hope so to, it'll be one of the things that would make a non-romanceable Varric an easier pill to swallow, knowing that we'll likely have a very interesting romance with Solas ahead of us.

LMAO yesssss. I can hear his voice!

Then he and Solas bond over their shared distaste for extremest viewpoints :P.

I don't think there's any info :( So, since it's almost 3.30 am here, I'm going to call it a night! See you lot in a couple of hours :)

So, if I dwarfmance him, do I got with the male Aeducan warden, or the female Brosca...?  And what sort of Hawke...?

I'm going Aeducan, but only because that's my favorite origin (and I think Varric could related to that warden's tale somewhat) as for Hawke... I went snarky, neutral as possible mage Hawke. I want Varric to have fond memories of Hawke, no matter how badly things turned out in the end.

I'd probably go with Brosca myself, since she's casteless and he's a surfacer (same diff, far as Orzammar is concerned). And Hawke should probably be someone who tried to stay neutral on mage/Templar issues.

That's a good point.  He does seem to have extra mention of Harrowment, should he take the throne.  I'm also hopeful Mardy will be hanging around.

Also true.
In my sets, she's Alistair's noble-hunter, also.  Maybe he'll comment on that.

Either way, there's not really a bad answer, since both make sense. You could also make an argument for City Elf, since he's familiar with the more rough-and-tumble parts of surface cities.

I will be romancing him on my Queen Cousland playthrough, because I like contradictions.

You made your Brosca a noble-hunter for Alistair? :P My Brosca didn't have any patience for his naive noble boy routine, he got hardened awful quick in that playthrough :P.

That is one good reason to pick Brosca, it's really hard to put Bhelen on the thrown as an Aeducan unless you have the foreknowledge to realize that failing to do so will result in the death of your last brother (which I didn't at the time, I wanted him angry at me, not murderous). Varric as a surface dwarf is treated better under Bhelen than he is under Harrowmont, not that he'd care too much. :P.

Haven't decided which Couslands and what inquisitor.

My Dalish warden's Hawke romance Merril, and their inquisitor is a Dalish mage who thinks they should breed themselves into extinction.

Maybe I'm weird. I like narrative arcs where my PCs contradict but also support one another's stories. Like, my violent bloodmage Amell was followed by a Hawke who was a die-hard Templar supporter because he understood how dangerous mages could be, who will be followed by my Trevelyan mage who's worried the Templars are getting too powerful and aren't treating the mages as people.

I just enjoy hearing call-backs.

I like the flow to that narrative... I never really did anything like that with my Warden and Hawke. Everything my warden did felt so far away to my Hawke, it didn't feel like his actions would influence her all that much. My Cadash on the other hand is going to be heavily influenced by both my Warden and Hawke. She's going to angry that my Warden let his grief instead of reason control him when choosing a king for Orzammar (therefore causing problems for surface dwarves) and she's going to be angry that my Hawke's fear and misery lead her to kill Anders rather than retaining him as a potentially useful ally/test subject.

The schedule seems to mainly just say demo1 2 or 3.  Seems like there aren't any actual panels for DA:I planned?

There was an art panel (I can't remember what it was called) but everything else is about Mass Effect.

Edit: It was called The Art of Video Games.

So probably no announcements at SDCC.  I guess we just have to keep watching twitter and other things for news.

Yup. I think the next major event is PAX, so if they're holding off announcing til we hit major events, it could be awhile.

Gamescon is in just a few weeks, and they've already said they have a lot to show there, so maybe the romances will come there?

Oh, Gamescon! *facepalm* Actually yeah, that's pretty promising. I'd say we have a decent chance of finding something out there.

I'm still going in with the feeling of, "We might not find anything out right now," but I'd put odds at Gamescon better than odds at Comic-Con

Agreed, and it isn't too far away, so at least we don't have to wait too long. August 14-17. It looks like in the past they have revealed new trailers at the event, so we can at least hope for new videos! (I'm hoping for CC and LI, myself)
