I loved those Origin flames too.
BTW, Someone on Scribbles forum mentioned they may have killed off Zev. : ( Did you see that?
Link?
My Lady Couslands have a thing for Zevran. But nobility is as nobility does, and a throne is hard to pass up.

I think it's very likely that he's race-gated to reduce the height awkwardness.
I personally feel like height should NEVER be a problem in real life but if the writers are maintaining mainstream values they'll probably limit him to dwarven girls.
I may be curious about the Qunari but I adore Dwarves so if he's racegated I don't mind playing Dwarf first.
Thank you! This is why I'm so bothered about race gating. It feels like it's all coming down to the rule of height-that the woman must be shorter than the man.
Everyone has their preferences in a partner, I get that, but I don't think height should be an ultimate deciding factor in whether or not you are romantically interested in a person anymore than hair color is.
I'm absolutely okay with the romances playing out differently or being more challenging depending on race but locking a race out of a romance simply because of height? No, I can't support that at all.
If they must race gate then I hope that at the very least they'll make the romances more in depth and have it boil down to more than the "short people can only be with short people" attitude that seems prevalent in the whole "race gating" scene.
Funny, my dwarf commoner spared Loghain too. All she cared about was making her mother see she was good for something and felt like having another Grey Warden so capable would help her cause in the end.
That Zev rumour was from an obscure tweet over a year ago, frankly, won't take it seriously.
If they're bringing back the other DAO LIs I am sure Zev will be relevant somehow.
Ah, Well I hope that's the case. But they did confirm in the Q&A today we won't see him and his VA is the American VA for the male Inquisitor.
With the keep I think my dwarf commoner will side with the elves over the wolves due to...what life is like in Dust Town. My dwarf noble, however, will have Loghain make the ultimate sacrifice because, as Loghain was tried and convicted as per the rules of his land, Warden Aeducan sees it as little different than being in the Dead Legion.

Hope he's mentioned. Something like, "The guy survived ambushing the Hero, helped her kill the archedemon, and she keeps him on the side under the king's nose. Did you really think sending a few crows after him was going to work?" written in a letter somewhere.

Wait, that's what everyone was getting up in arms about? An old tweet? I'm not saying that the tweet is false. It could be true that Zevran might be dead. Still, everyone has been acting like Chicken Little and taking this as fresh news?

Somedays BSN, somedays.

I think the fact that his VA is returning but not as Zev, also concerns people
So I might find out what the queen of Fereldan has been up to, but not her elven boy-toy? Disappointing. With luck he's mentioned in a codex or something.
Gossip: Did you hear? Apparently, the queen has a thing for elven assassins...
Gossip: Did you hear? Apparently, the Champion of Kirkwall took on a whole murder of crows...over the same elf that helped the hero slay the archdemon!
et all.
@Jewlie: He's not under the king's nose. Alistair knows where he stands.
Glad to know the Zevran thing floating around is probably just a hyped up rumor. He wasn't my favorite in Origins, but I grew fond of him eventually and would rather him not be dead. ![]()
As a really short woman, I agree. Height should not be a problem.
But, I'd probably run a dwarf warrior or rogue for him even if he wasn't racegated. I play warriors more than rogues so , I'd probably try and change it up so I'd be a rogue
As a really tall woman I concur ^_0

Nope. But, theres Eight LI and two are racegated
I thought the height issues were technical, but someone in the Iron Bull thread told me that wasn't really the case, so if they're right Varric may not be as gated as we think. (and IB) :3
While I am a little upset about not seeing Zevran, as long as Varric is an LI, it TOTALLY MAKES UP FOR THAT.

As a fairly tall woman who frequently wears high heels I also concur.
Early info seemed to strongly suggest technical problems, but they said something about storyline reasons. Might have converted a tech problem into a storyline. I'd be okay with that.

Really? I adore Zevran. My canon LI is Alistair but Zevran...oh man he was the only character in that game who I just instantly nailed the approval rating of.
With the other characters I kept tip toeing around them all "oh what would they want me to say" but the instant I spoke to Zevran I just picked what dialogue I was actually the most likely to say. Of all the characters in Origins I feel like he could have easily been a good friend of mine. Him and I have near identical senses of humor.
"Aha you have rather macabre tastes I see...I like that."

I didn't give him a fair shot at first, I was busy gawking a Alistair's adorableness back then. xD; But it's true, he ended up being a character I really enjoyed -- I preferred Leliana to him for a long time because I found her so cute (when she wasn't ninjamancing me), but he crawled into my affections. I think I was bitter my first playthrough about him trying to kill me, but I was just being silly and when I went through all of his dialogue found him to be a great character. It's funny because I do always tend to adore his type, the cunning and mischievous rogue (see: Isabela), but I suppose I was going through a thing with Alistair back then so strongly it didn't click for me like it did with her in DA2.
I always got that line from him and loved it, haha! ![]()
Here's some cute fanart by merwildsomething:-
I love it! Varric's a given, but that elf is gorgeous. I have a thing for blue eyes. ![]()
I hadn't heard about them telling us specifically how many are race gated.
I seem to recall Varric actually saying he wasn't into humans once so...maybe there's hope for this.
I didn't feel attracted to Alistair at all. Only Zev. And Morrigan, but I am straight and so is she. *shrugs*
Back on topic,

WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?

It is hard to ignore Alistair's adorableness and Leliana's romance is quite sweet too. I really liked all of the DAO romances. I never played a male so I never experienced the Morrigan one but I've scene videos of it and it's pretty darn sweet too.
And yeah, it's hard not to love the snarky mischievous rogues. ![]()
Zevran's banter with Wynne is my absolute favorite Dragon Age banter. "May I rest my head in your bosom? I wish to cry."

My favourite banter (in total) is Sten/Shale. I ship them so hard.
