It's hilarious to me, I was watching the thread and thinking, "It's taking us two hours to finish this page? That's kind of awhile." And then remembered that the other threads probably take about twice that long.

I'm pretty sure we could take over the Cullen thread once Varric is confirmed as an LI! This thread will explode! I mean look how far this thread has come without even knowing and just hoping!
I really hope something is announced soon though, I keep trying to find ways to distract myself from thinking about it and it doesn't always work! I'm continually checking this place for good news or obvious dev hints to his LI status!

Now I'm about to go on a tangent... but you bring up a good point about her answering positively. What if Bianca broke his heart and left him... and then maybe died? Maybe? Hmm.. actually if she left him, I'm not certain Varric would name a crossbow (that he adores) after a woman who broke his heart. But maybe there's it was like Game of Thrones (SPOILER)

Where Jon Snow and Ygritte are in love but then they were torn apart by different loyalties and then she dies, knowing she still loves him?

And while even Mary Kirby describes Varric as "first and foremost extremely loyal" we've seen that loyalty tested with his brother. If Hawke doesn't convince Varric otherwise, he'll kill his brother for his betrayal and I can't imagine that if Bianca really broke his heart that he'd still call his crossbow Bianca so affectionately. Again, I like your train of thought, but I'm still leaning toward the idea that she's dead.

side note: you know regardless of what happened with Varric and Bianca, thinking about all this just makes me think that the scene where Varric warns Hawke against being in a relationship with any of the different party members (because they are all levels of crazy and have the potential of breaking his/her heart) is really, really sweet now. Awwwww :3

Revenge could be a good motivator, but he's so happy to call her that. I get no sense of revenge from it. lol it would be funny it though

I was going to say this seemed out of character... but considering how he acted about Bartrand, I'm not sure it's that unreasonable an idea.

 

I don't see it being likely, but it could definitely happen.

Is he? Honestly, I've always got the feeling he's pretty cagey. His personal quests are never all that personal, he'll drop small comments about his work or family but never follow up on them, and his Scarface joke with Cassandra made it pretty clear to me that he normally deflects with humor when he's uncomfortable.

If he caused something bad to happen to her, I feel like it must have been an accident, like MK said he's super loyal and I don't even think he'd turn on someone he trusted no matter how badly they screwed him over (short of leaving him to die in the deep roads).

 

Is he? Honestly, I've always got the feeling he's pretty cagey. Even Hawke asks Varric why isn't he the star of his stories, and Varric said there's a formula to a good hero- meaning that he doesn't see himself as the hero type. MK said "He tells stories to rewrite events he's lived through and make them less senseless, the people in them more inspirational, and to drag some meaning out of the mess that surrounds the people he cares about." He might not get into stuff that's really personal because he can't see the forest for the trees in his own life. So he avoids the subject.

It wasnt quite so bad. The sweat thing was a misunderstanding, a joke people took too literally.

 

Its more that the threads got to almost be a competition. And In terms of sheer posts, Tali was winning by a landslide. That drew a lot of people to start hating on her.

 

This place is a much more stable group though, so I wouldnt worry too much.
